Rolling mainly a warrior but I am kinda might/sorcery.

I think once I start again in the future I'll do Hard and some form of finesse

      Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Backstabbing with daggers rules all, but I also must always run with a sword/shield combo character, so the might/finesse hybrid is right up my alley. The combat in this game would seem to make all styles a very rewarding experience. Stealth bow kills made killing a lot of the enemies in Skyrim way too easy. The daggers-only mechanic here is much better, IMO.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

        Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

I've only played 3 hours so far but I'm having a lot of fun. If there turns out to be a "story" that some of you refer to, that will be a bonus. So far, the combat is fun, the loot is plentiful, and the skill tree seems deep and complex, and I haven't even gotten into the fate mechanic yet. Just running around letting things happen to me and reacting to them has been a blast.

I'm not in love with the camera but the graphics more than make up for that, especially as contrasted with the monochromatic Skyrim that I have been living in since November. Oddly, as cartoony as the art style is, I find the people more "real".

Funniest moment so far was finding a buckler in a "whirlpool". That made me lol for some reason.

Yeah i rarely struggle on normal, not sure if I want to switch to hard or not. May keep it in normal to give me incentive to play again down the road

This game is great. It's actually better than Skyrim in some areas, notably the depth of the combat. I actually got a little bored with Skyrim after a while because the combat just wasn't very fun. I don't see that happening with this game.

The skill trees are nice and the loot is great. I also like how I've been able to use some black smithing to make some stuff that's better than some of the stuff I've been able to find or buy early on.

I was kind of lukewarm on the demo, but im glad i went ahead and picked it up. The game gets a lot more interesting after the first intro section (the part thats in the demo). I'm probably about ten hours in the game and feel like I've barely scratched the surface. If anyone is on the fence, you should definitely give this gme a shot.

              Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Having a blast with this game, decided to start over as a pure rogue and there's a lot of depth to rogue combat. As far as difficulty, with my first character I had a terribly easy time in Dalenarth, but after I moved on to the plains the difficulty increased. So for me the difficulty is fine, but then again I'm kind of a noob to the whole RPG genre.

Oh that thing at the top! That was in the demo. I remember that now!

                  Moved up to Hard.

It made the game a whole lot more rewarding for me so far. Boss fights on Normal were fun, but those were the only ones that were challenging and only had like 2 so far. Now large groups I can struggle with and those mobs that are orange but not quite bosses can kick my butt.

I just got my first house. I totally didn't see it coming, so it was a nice surprise. I had to pay for the upgrades, very reasonable costs, but the house itself was free.

I pray this game sells well. I'm begging everyone to buy it so that they will release more ove the next few years. This is my favorite game in a very long time. 15 hours into it and it just keeps getting better. I'm a battle mage with a fire longsword. Everything about this game is awesome... Combat, Loot, side quests, story, voice acting, graphics, gem-slotting, everything!

If a game can be described as an RPG and has been released in the last 15 or so years, I've played it, and this one is special...

Agreed. It's starts off slow but gets going well. I would suggest skipping alot of the early side quests as they are kinda lame. Stick to the guilds and main, then sprinkle in some cooler side quests later. Still must be over 80 hours doing it that way.

Played for a while today unintentionally. I started on hard, and I would say I'm enjoying the game besides getting the close camera angle. I really wish I could pull it out further instead of being hit from off-screen by a random group of enemies that has aggroed, or having it get stuck behind a piece of the environment keeping me from seeing which attack animation is playing out of my enemies.

Also, to hell with Jotuns always appearing in pairs, and sprite champions.

I played the demo for this game and LOVED the combat. This is the game I was hoping fable would be. The thing that prevents me from buying it though is that it's set up like World of Warcraft with all the side quests. I know theyr optional but i hate skipping things and feel this game can b pretty overwhelming. From reading the reviews this game doesnt seem so main story driven. I'm all for side quests but Idk if i can handle doing 5 things at once.

Funnily enough, packs of wolves give me the most trouble in this game. I ran into a pack of about 8 earlier tonight and they were handing me my ***. They're quick buggers. It's hard to get a shot in when they leap at you.

Awesome game, though. It's such a refined RPG experience. Everything is real slick. These guys really knew what they were doing.

Yeah I hate fighting groups, especially when they hit at different times really keeps you from doing anything.
