Idk but from how BC2 ended I thought there was going to be a new one continueing the story.

Thats actually a good question. What are the differences going to be? They can't remove destructible environments, that would more than like just hurt the game. Are they just going to call it BF3 and have it basically be the third game in both the Battlefield series and the Bad Company series? Are we going to see 64 player matches on console?

I am interested to see what really separates this from Bad Company.

Sorry for all the questions but is it similar to Bad Company 2 then? I never played it on the PC so I have no idea. If it is similar I will definitely get this.

Battlefield 2 for pc was awesome, you had so many weapon/equipment options. I'm sure they could bring back some classic maps and add in a bunch of new maps. I'm sure there are tons of things they could add in and improve.

Battlefield 3 is going to be a dedicated Multiplayer game, There will probably be no Single player game(if there is, it will be barebones).

I imagine Battlefield 3 will reintroduce Planes, Ships, Morters. I heard somewhere that in BF3 the outcome of one map will alter the objectives and locations for the next map in BF3. So in one map if a team gets trounced on offense, they will retreat and play defense on the next map.

BF2 wasn't really like Bad Company to me. You had a commander that gave out orders to each squad. They could also fight, but that was frowned upon.

The main purpose was to do supply drops, call UAV, artillery strikes and point out enemies.

BF2 only had conquest mode though.

Battlefield 2 had 4 factions to choose from the Chinese, Russians, MEC and the US
the weapons are also faction specific so you wont see any Russians, Chinese running around with an M16 from the start...

Battlefield 2142 im hoping they bring this back with the use of the frostbyte engine....

They tried the squad leader gameplay approach on consoles with MAG, and while I consider the game really awesome, financially it was pretty weak compared to the other popular shooters. You could tell if you bought it the first week, you were playing with some of the COD crowd, and it never picked up with them since they couldn't run and gun, and the maps were massive, and there was actual respawning.

I thought the concept was perfect, the execution could have been a little better, but it was a damn good time in the right game. It would massively suck if you had to play with idiot squad leaders who didn't do anything.

While I was a fan of Battlefield 2, I really loved the Titan mode on Battlefield 2142.

BF1942 is still my favorite. I wish they'd a complete HD frostbyte version of that game for consoles, with some old and new maps.
