Just to be 100% clear on spotting....on 360, sight the enemy like you're going to shoot them, and spam the 'BACK' button, right?

I was trying to do this last night but must have been doing it wrong as the scoreboard kept popping up. Think I wasn't holding my 'sight' (LT).

the haze and smoke situations that are created off of DICE's Frostbite 2 engine are amazing. I went to capture the one conquest point in Seine's crossing where its in like that walled-off courtyard as I'm entering that fish barrel lol, there must have been an explosion which just sent dust and debris everywhere. I went prone and was able to go dodge enemy bullets as I captured the bullet. Once the dust cleared I searched around for the opposing but he found me first and that ended that. But still it was a tense situation that was a lot of fun, and I have to say I have a WOW moment like every minute with this game.

I'm always trying to spot, but it won't let me.
Just a heads up, I don't think spotting works in Hardcore modes or when it's turned off in the server setup. Check what settings the server is using when you join (click on the server name and it'll show up in Battlelog, it'll be "Use 3D spotting").

Also, I can't spot some jets and helis no matter what the options are...I think they might have an upgrade that prevents them from being spotted.

Make sure you are tapping it and not holding it down.

It's...kind of hard to explain but once you figure it out, it's pretty easy. Also, It's pretty hit or miss some times. I don't think I have ever figured it out completely, but just spam it and you'll get it eventually.

You can't really spam it - it only allows a certain number of spots every few seconds. That's probably in there so you would'nt purposely spot something you didn't know was there. Also, you can spot without sighting - that's how I usually spot things in the air.

Love the Q key on the keyboard for spotting - Hitting Select/Back on a controller just seems like it would be awful. No wonder people aren't spotting regularly on consoles.

When you get revived it doesn't count as a death, but still counts as a kill.

I believe there's also an audible "tone" when hitting the spotting button. That may also help knowing if you're actually spotting.

                          A few random thoughts...

Just wondering what people's strategies are for leveling up? Do you guys usually pick one class and stay with it or mix it up? Also do you usually get one gun really levelled up?

I played Conquest last nite for the first time...WOW!!! That mode right there is a leveling up machine if you have vehicles on it.

I started out with Assault class but soon discovered how much fun being Engineers are when you really start wrecking vehicles!!!

                          AWESOME game!!!

Also, try turning on the "war tape" settings in the audio section when wearing headphones...I found myself literally ducking when jets were buzzing over me!!!

Oh yeah, i don't think i've gotten more than 3 hours of sleep the past 3 nights...I'm freakin' tired right now!!!!
Don't blame me for what those nitwits said...They don't speak for me!!!

Also, I've noticed the type of gun and scopes make a difference. I picked up a recon gun last night and decided to go hunting as a defender. I spotted every person going to B before taking a shot myself. With the Sniper Rifle every soldier that went into my sights was spotted with one press of the spot button. Usually with a RDS I need to follow the enemy at range before actually getting an orange tick.

I find my class selection is completely based on the map and what my squad is going. I also base my weapon on map. For larger maps I use the M16 for accuracy, and smaller / confined maps I'll use an automatic of some sort.

Maybe post on the Battlelog forums, and I am sure EA/DICE will investigate and reset their stats. But then you would be "that guy" complaining. I am sure something will happen. Always does in these games by the developers eventually.

Agreed. That is what I always loved about this series. And it is even more realistic than ever!

Assault isn't just "run around and shoot people." You are a medic too, act like it.

I was an MVP for a game because I stayed in the hall way of Bazaar and revived my teammates so we could keep that position. May have killed like, 8 people.
I know what you mean. That is why I LOVE playing with in a squad with the guys from OS on the PC. Millennium, bcruise, RealmK, Cpre5, and I were kicking *** and taking names on Conquest. Amazing how a well working squad and tip the tide the entire round!

Yeah, after I think 3/4 spams it locks you out for a short period... it makes a soft tone (much softer than it was in beta).

                                Loving it as well...

I stick with engineer when I play Rush or Conquest mostly. Lots of fun and I love the M4 weaponry. For level weapons themselves up, the best way is Team DM. I grit my teeth to play it... but I actually did not do too bad this morning and even made MVP in a round or two. But it is the fastest way since it is KILL, KILL, KILL over and over and over, ultra fast paced.

And 'War Tapes' is PHENOMENAL! Especially with a sick 5.1 system or even better, on headphones!

I have found myself doing this as well as asking the squad what they need for a better tactical advantage.
