I just had to LMAO at this. Nothing like arguments that start with one issue and end up on a completely different issue. Sometimes I think womens emotions are the equivalent to a guys erection. They enjoy it.

Oh yea, I came here to look at impressions. I'm on the fence with this one. I have COD3 but I'm looking for something a lil less...arcade. Is BF3 the ticket?

Its like on COD, everyone runs around like they just got a Mario Bros magic smiley face star. To much twitch shooting, no stratergy.

Koolie, if rule #1 is 'be picky; don't settle', rule #2 is 'pick your battles'. LOL Know when to take a stand, or when it's not worth it to argue. The same also applies to dealing with teenagers.

BF3 is definitely less arcadey, more strategic, team-based warfare. Feels more like war and less like digital tag. Big maps, with taking objectives and using REAL teamwork as the key. KDR matters little, scoring by doing your 'job' and winning the round is the aim.

There's also a TDM mode, which has no vehicles, smaller maps (small sections of the big maps), and is focused on CQ combat. Great for leveling up weapons and stuff.

I think there's a certain measure of strategy involved in both, but there's just so much more involved with Battlefield 3.

There's four classes to play as and each are important to the fight.

Assault - Primiarily assault rifles, med kits, defibrillators, etc.

Engineer - Smaller rifles, SMGs (Scar, A-91, M4, etc.), repair tool, RPG, etc.

Support - LMGS, C4, Mortars, ammo kits, etc.

Recon - Sniper rifles, tools to spot enemy soldiers and vehicles, tools to create spawns and motion sensors, etc.

The beauty of BF3 is there are so many ways to be successful, but remain tactical. I'm a fast paced player, but as far as BF's standards go, I still wouldn't consider it "run and gun".. I just move a lot, behind cover.

The game really makes you think, before you step out behind cover.. and if you're playing with a good squad (there are plenty here on OS who play), things are much more fun..

There's something special about storming through a building, as a team, to take an MCOM station from the opposing team...

You cannot forget about the impact of vehicles either. They are the biggest strategic element in the game. A single MBT or LAV can turn the tide of a game. I'll give it to a chopper too only if the pilot is extremely good (maneuvering around the map with no hassle/circle strafing/being able to avoid missiles by ducking behind buildings and mountains.)

There are many times, where people simply aren't even using the vehicles that are back at the deployment. I was playing on Kargh with some randoms and every time I spawned, I was able to get right back in a tank at the deployment.

I used recon mostly and I'm never on the top of the leaderboard for kills. But taking timed shots from 400m aand spotting all the tanks choppers and players I can't hit with the rifle, as well as charging to a point and dropping the spawn point to get me tons of points. Then you got the other guys here playing a TOTALLY different way. Its great.

Also wanna see rage? Snipe a guy 4 times in a match and see how quick he stops playing as a teammate and specificaqlly come for you. Caught a guy from the carrrier (great sightlines to watch over B and C) on Noshar 4 times until he had enough and came at me in a chopper for the kill. lol.

I was telling Paperboy, JNES and Krzyman, I'm just gonna smoke everything when we attack.

The last set of MCOMs on Metro I just smoked their deployment for fun. Jnes was dropping some smoke from the mortar. I was laughing the whole time. All you saw were red and blue markers running around on a screen of full white.

I thought it was hilarious. It was impossible to see anyone or anything, until you walked right on top of them.. and it was very effective.
