If you have a SOFLAM up, does it laser designate the choppers and planes for your javelin? I never play Recon class (which I think has the SOFLAM), so I'm not sure how it works, but I always get excited when I see those choppers lit up so I don't have to lock on with the javelin, I can just fire right away.

I don't play much as engineer, but on maps like Kharg and other vehicle heavy maps, I usually play engineer long enough to lay down some mines and try to slow down the enemy vehicles with a few javelin rounds.

There was nothing we could do on the Kharg game last night. The guy in the A-10 was picking me off from a long distance and then on the last MCOM's in the warehouse, the guy in the chopper was just hovering about 20-30 feet off the ground circling the building just blasting away. I'd never seen anyone do that before.

I have the SOFLAM, but when I use it nobody takes advantage of it. If you want me to use it, grab your javelin and we'll try it.

Otherwise you gotta use RPG and old school it. I used to be pretty good at dropping choppers in BC2 but I'm a little rusty. I still get 'em from time to time but it's not always easy.

It seems to be a lot tougher to drop choppers in BF3. I did it constantly in BC2, with the RPG. I miss some of those maps.. isla inocentes (sp) was glorious!

To my fellow PS3ers: I haven't been on since the Clan Battle, a few nights ago. I've been sort of busy and NBA 2k has taken some of my time. I'll def. be on either late tonight or sometime tomorrow.

I can finally circle strafe in a chopper, not as great as bc2, but manageable. I just need to practice a bit more so I'm not strafing into poles or trees. If I had to circle around a vehicle or building with nothing to impede my movement, I got that on lock.

I can fly pretty decent, but I still make a mistake occasionally. I'm trying to learn how to come to a stop quicker, when coming in close to a flag.

I wish they would let you have two sets of flares, if each member in a chopper has them equipped. It's tough to avoid going down, when someone locks on and you use a flare to avoid being nailed, then they're back on you again before you can even get to cover.

I always feel like I've accomplished something, when I go on a nice tear in a chopper and destroy a few tanks. It's always easy with a good gunner.

lol @ this ***** rmx dude.

He's been sending me garbage messages for two rounds. He couldn't cut it without his frag rounds last game and they got destroyed.. so he sent me a msg "os is noobs".

I'd like to know where these people get their creative trash talk ideas..

Did the regular shotguns get nerfed? I haven't played in a while, but the 870 seems to be ineffective now for close quarter combat.

Also I finally see the ridiculous shotgun fragging going around

I don't normally play as an engineer, but when I do, I prefer the javelin.

Love taking out choppers with the javelin. Jistic if you wanna throw that SOFLAM up at the beginning of those matches, I will use it. However, when I play as an engineer it usually takes me outta my game. I suck with the carbines. I'm pretty solid with the assault rifles.

I played a few games last night and got totally destroyed in every single one of them. My teams were awful, a bunch of noobs were just wearing me out, and just had all kinds of bad luck with spawning on someone just to die 2 secs later. It was not my night.

LOL, well I was on 360 last night, played a round of Conquest at Tehran. Then decided that I needed to pump up my neglected assault class because I REALLY want the grenade launcher for launching smoke grenades, so I played a few rounds of TDM and got the launcher...but no smoke? What do I gotta do to get the smoke?

I'll be checking in on PS3 again tonight, but it's been tough hookin up with PS3ers lately.

Nevermind on the smoke rounds....a quick trip to Battlelog showed me I have to get 20 kills using the grenade launcher to unlock the smoke rounds....damn. Guess that means some rampant noob-tubing is in order on TDM [eye_roll].

I've got over 1500 kills with the M320 attachment. I must be a great noob-tuber. The smoke grenades can be very effective if used properly. It won't take you very long to get 20 kills with the grenande launcher. When people are trying to hide in cover or in a building, you just blow that cover up son!
