Ok...looks like I'm gonna have to purchase this game on the PC.

(I currently play on PS3, but it sounds like the PC version KILLS it)


So, since I'm in the market for a PC that can handle this sort of game, WHAT SHOULD I GET?

**I currently use a laptop Sony Vaio from 2009.

What specs on a PC will I need to run Battefield 3 (and any other great PC game) to a "T"?

I'm lookin' for something a lil' better than that ...

I don't want to turn this thread into a (what kind of console CPU should I get)

...but I want something that will be able to handle games for at least the next 5 (or so) years.

I can't believe this is coming out in a few weeks. The lighting is spectacular even through that camera.

D.I.C.E. developers talk about Battlefield 3 on the show floor of TGS 2011.

Don't know if there is anything new in it but the video is 23 min long. I haven't watched it yet.

Battleblog #11: Every Battlefield 3 multiplayer game mode explained

Changes made to Rush Mode:

* You cannot use explosives or shoot at the M-COM to take it out. Only arm and disarm.
* If the attacking team arms the M-COM but runs out of tickets, the match will continue until the M-COM detonates or defenders disarm it
* If the defenders start disarming an M-COM just before it’s about to blow, the explosion is prevented until the disarm is accomplished. If the defender gets killed during the disarm process, the M-COM will instantly blow

New Option for Conquest Mode:

Not a fan of vehicles? No problem -- just click the “Infantry Only” box in your server browser when searching for a server game where no attack vehicles will spawn in, only transports. This is a great way to get a feel for the game or the map before you go all-out warfare.

I like all those except for the last one. Kinda lame. They also need to reward defenders WAY more for disarming because they take all the risk while other dudes are just looking for headshots with their M24

Defenders will never win. Arm explosive, drop C4, hide. Defender comes to disarm, blow C4 killing defender and automatically destroying MCOM. Automatic win. I will be very surprised if defenders win more than 10% of games.

The changes don't bother me, but I never liked Rush mode to begin with. It's not Battlefield to me. But in reading it, the defenders are going to have a tough time, but hopefully the maps are geared in the defenders favor and they play as a team. Otherwise that won't be a very fun mode if the attackers run down the map arming and winning left and right.
