Let me tell you guys how incredibly awesome this game is. This is my impression of the game after finally doing well in a game.
I'm the type of guy who hates online play in FPS games. I'll play the other game online but get bored/frustrated because the only thing that people play is TDM and I have no chance at being good because I'm not that good at winning gun battles, and if I want to play an objective-based game, it's still TDM to 90% of the players. I'll end up quitting after one game to play single player or another mode. I picked up this game because it looked good from what I read/saw in videos on it, and it boasted an amazing multiplayer. I was skeptical because I was so used the the other game's style of play, something I never have fun with.
But with this game, I actually do have fun and I don't have to conform to a headless rambo chicken just to survive. I posted about my first MVP of my team earlier, and you have no idea how awesome that felt (even though we lost) because I played my style and it worked.
I must've had four flag neutralized-then-captured in a row without even being caught by someone on the other team. I went 2-3 the entire game and one of my deaths was literally 5 seconds after I deployed for the first time (I joined the game in progress). It was easily my best online experience I've ever had in a FPS, and like I said, I only went 2-3.
Another thing that I love is Battlelog, where I can track my stats and other things. It seems so simple but it really makes a difference to me, and is another reason why I'm hooked on this game. I love looking at my stats seeing what I'm best/worst at.
All in all, this game is easily the best game I've ever played online, and for someone who usually doesn't like online with FPS, saying that I love the online really says a lot, I think.

I used to be amazing at Deathmatch style FPSs. Back in the day I was ranked pretty damn high in the world (top 25) in UT. I was filthy good. Me and my uncle could take on a team of 8-10 in Capture the Flag, with just the two of us, and dominate.
But as you get older, and you stop playing, you lose the reflexes and interest in that type of play style.
Thus why I always loved the BF series. BF2 was amazing, and BC2 was good, brought some neat ideas, but I still missed the old formula.
This takes the best of both games. And I could not be happier. I knew it was going to be well in the hands of DICE, and they delivered so far. It can only get better from here as they tweak and add new things!Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 10-29-2011, 08:49 AM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Battlefield 3
These open maps are killing me, literally!Keep getting sniped to death!
I did have one shining moment last night where for some reason someone was trying to run me down in a vehicle instead of shoot. I kept zig-zagging back and forth while running and as the jeep drove by I flung a C4 charge on it. He turned around to come and get me again and I just stood there, I think he thought I just gave up until I pressed the button!Prick!

Re: Battlefield 3
Me and my friend played for nearly 4 hours last night after the World Series. We lost every single game except for the last 3. Both of us were usually the top 2 on our team by a few thousand points, but apparently we were stuck with the worst teammates in the world as we were still getting destroyed in Conquest.
We switched to Rush and everything was still going bad until we both decided to slow our game down. We both felt like we were going a little to fast paced and once we did that we started to win games and be even further ahead of our teammates. Us two combined were putting up nearly 8-10k points a Rush game while the rest of the team was putting up the same number combined.
It feels great having such a huge impact on the team and game, but I still wish we weren't the sole reason the team won. It's frustrating and rewarding at the same time, but the game is new and still full of terrible players, so we're going to have to get used to it.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Battlefield 3
And the slump continues. I have now lost 12 of the last 14. I thought we won 3 last night, but we ended with 2 straight. My teammates are absolutely terrible today. I was the only player to disarm a bomb last round and I did it 3 times. Surely someone else out there has the skill to do it one time too.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
