    Re: Battlefield 3

After flying my first 30 minutes in jets and getting one kill, I've finally become a decent pilot and was going 8-0, 5-2, 4-1, etc. in the jets last night and was getting 6, 7, and even 8 vehicle disables/destroys. I destroyed like 5 jets, disabled 3 more, disabled two tanks, and destroyed a tank last night all in one match in one jet on Operation Firestorm. It feels so good to finally be able to rack up points with the jets.

My best game last night with the jets brought me 1,900 points in it. That's pretty good for being in a jet an entire match.

Looks like servers are down, again.

If they dont get the server issues fixed soon, I expect an exodus when MW3 comes out. I prefer the Battlefield series over the CoD series, but one thing that is usually stable in CoD IS the servers. There is no excuse for this amount of server problems.

Game is great on its on merits, but between the server issues, the disconnects, the lag, the not being able to join a squad, friends getting split into different teams etc... looks like server issues could certainly have a huge negative impact on this title.

Until people realize that MW3 will also have server issues upon release

True, I try to avoid confrontation when it happens...the maps are huge, if you have the patience to "go out wide" and get behind b/c their whole team will be on the frontlines...you can wait on your squad to spawn on u to gain an advantage in an area until you capture. However, in Op Metro...there is no "wide"...just a funnel of doom lol.

You're not serious, are you? CoD has just as bad server issues at the release. Then after a month or so when they are fixed, they're still worse than Battlefield's because they aren't dedicated.

I like BF over CoD, but I am not going to blindly hate. CoD nails the fast paced action FPS game, but saying the servers are stable at the release of that game too is just a bit funny to me.

Servers crashed 30 minutes after I started up, bummer.

Good. Means less non team playing Rambo run and gunners. More worried about their K/D versus the real principal of this game.

Also server issues again I am sure had a lot to do with the storm that slammed the northeast. Since they have servers all over the east and west coast.

67% of CT is still without power. So I can't play regardless.

There is no excuse for BF3 servers, but the servers will probably be bad when MW3 is released, based on all past FPS releases with server issues.

They need to figure out a way to introduce voice chat for atleast squads because limiting a team to just chat text is ridiculous. Too many times have people either not noticed the text calling for help at a certain base or the chat window just fades out too fast before messages can be read.

Lack of communication in a game that once had in-game voice communication is inexcusable. No idea why they decided to exclude it for outside of your friends list.

I dont mind this as much as seeing a teamate take a tank to drive to the airstrip or take a littlebird or cobra to bring them to a high sniping perch. The vehicle just remains...useless.

My brother that hasnt played a bf game since bf:vietnam, the original, plays the recon role the way that would normally annoy me : far away but spotting everyone. We may not win but damn we are having fun. Watching him actually enjoying himself, gave me a different perspective on random new players. I am sure he'll get closer to the action as he gets more comfortable with the game.

After he quit yesterday he said to me, i bet my team is happy i left. I said, yup I know I am.

They really need to tone down the flashlight. It makes sense if its in a dark tunnel like Operation Metro but out in broad daylight? It's just silly...
