Re: Battlefield 3
As someone said in an earlier post (paraphrasing), you don't go to a burger place and expect their pizza slices to be the best in the city. Battlefield's roots are in the multiplayer and the single player was just not engaging at all. I didn't even bother finishing it after the jet stage. It felt like a tutorial....Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
From my experience and from reading these posts, it seems like there's 2 different types of players
1) Outside the box players- Prefer conquest over rush
- Don't like choke points
- The more vehicles the better
- Prefer stages like Capsian Border, Operation Firestorm, Kharg Island
2) Shortest path is the best path players- Prefer rush & deathmatch games
- Prefer infantry warfare versus vehicle
- Don't like open stages
- Prefer stages like Operation Metro, Damavand Peak, Grand Bazaar, Seine Crossing
I think I fall in the second group. I rarely use tanks, I think i spend more time repairing them than driving one. I love the close quarters bottleneck stages, they are a lot more difficult but when you win it's much more gratifying.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
I'd say a little of both. That's pretty damn impressive, but it's still the other team's fault (and DICE's as well) for not communicating. These videos where 5-6 people get wiped out by one guy without ANY of them turning towards him is the exact reason squad VOIP is needed.

Re: Battlefield 3
A note to the devs for the future: never allow people to get into vehicles who don't know what they're doing. Require a training course offline and stop this crap where people get into incredibly powerful vehicles and take them out of the battle by crashing them or just not knowing what they're doing (like using a tank as if it's some sort of juggernaut and just charging into a storm of rockets). Someone thought it's part of the game many pages back, that's nuts, it's not game breaking but it does break individual rounds and all that means is lack of fun. Create a newbie pool that bad players have to SPM their way out of in order to play with the rest of us. Create some training classes that have to be passed. Do something. It's just infuriating having a team or losers who don't have a clue how to play this game and aren't just dead weight but are actively screwing over their own team.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
Are you referring to voice commands or in-game audio chat?
I was just browsing the PC wishlist thread over at Battlelog's forums. PC players are still asking for VOIP for multiplayer and co-op, so it looks like VOIP is not in yet...at least not in the ways that we can chat on the consoles as I understand it.GO 'HAWKS!
