Hey everyone, i dont post much but i tell ya, reading stories about matches makes me giddy to play more! i envy all recon that can headshot at 500m. i cant seem to get the range right. hope to see you guys on the battlefield!

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how that "skill" stat is calculated? I've actually always wondered since I have no idea what it represents, but looking through some old battle reports the numbers are all over the place (same in looking at my history on bf3stats).

I had a pretty good game on Karkand yesterday yet my skill was -32. Then I look at a bunch of wholly unimpressive games yet my skill is positive in those matches. Does it matter if my team wins? It seems that may affect it.

As an aside, I think the QBB-95 is my new favorite support weapon. It seems to have decent stopping power and accuracy.

I believe it is calculated in the gun battles you have. If a lower "ranked" person kills you it makes your skill level go down, if you kill a higher "ranked" player then your skill level goes up. *I think*

I was having troubles getting in with the PS3 gang again last night, so switched to the 360 and went noob-tubing in TDM to get my smoke grenades. Amazing how quickly those 20 kills came to unlock it!

Then I couldn't figure out how to access the smokes. On mortars, you use the d-pad to switch between Smoke and Explosive rounds on the fly (or, squat, if you like LOL). With the launcher, I see that you have to determine at your loadout screen if you want smokes OR grenades OR buck for the launcher. Ahhh...makes for a very strategic decision!

That's right. Playing in a room full of noobs and slaughtering them...your skill goes down. Play in a room full of high ranked and even going positive will boost your skill level.

Yeah it was weird. It used to be alot easier to get in games on PS3...maybe because people were using different servers to play in.

We went in on Wake Island, it showed you on my squad but you were never there (you said you were switching teams). I tried to do that too. The few times I did go ahead and spawn when I wasn't futzing with team switch I died as soon as I appeared. So, had to quit out. It seemed to be just a mess. We'll try again!

Just found out that equipment can be resupplied after being destroyed. lol

I was trying to spot with the MAV and my roommate kept running to me and tossing me a supply box. I kept telling him, "Stop coming over here man. I am not shooting anybody!" And he responded by saying well I keep getting points.

Then my MAV was shot down, but I was able to bring another one out immediately. That's when it dawned on me that it was from his supply box. So that entire match, anytime my MAV went down, I just ran to a supply box, and I was able to get another MAV.

This whole time I thought the supply box just helped with ammo for guns. Not equipment and other things like the grenade launcher, SMAW, and stinger. Smh.

That is why I can constantly throwing crates out. It replaces almost everything in your arsenal. I know sometimes people are looking at me like "why you keep throwing that **** out there!" Lol

I randomly figured out that you can take off enemy c4's on a vehicle by walking up to them and holding square.

Here's what I think happened. We killed the guy running up and planted 3 c4 on our tank. His class was laying near the tank...i may have grabbed his class unknowingly when I walked up to the tank and it told me to hold square. Then one of the c4's disappeared, so I did it again and again then no more c4's...but here's the strange part I was engineer the whole time(meaning I still had my weapon) until I picked up the last c4 and then all of a sudden my gun changed to whatever the guy we killed left behind.

So I don't know maybe engineers can remove c4s or not but I will experiment with this.

It can't come soon enough.

But I'm still on the side of frag rounds being removed completely from the shotguns.
