I think I "applied" or whatever the term is for the clan tag.

Only played about half an hour last night. Just was not in the zone at all. It didn't help that all the servers I got put in were already in progress with my team losing and pinned down to the deployment zone.

You can make your clan tag whatever you want from Battlelog. Just go to edit profile.

It's fun if you go into a server that has a whole bunch of [mAg] guys (I picked random letters) and you change your tag to that and start trolling them

Time zones are a bitch.. Would be great to play with some of you at some point. I'm working tomorrow but generally speaking will be on most of the weekend, so hopefully I can hook up with some of you.

I can just see the excitement in all of your eyes right now.. Asking yourselves "What does his voice really sound like..?".

            Re: Battlefield 3

I played a little bit yesterday and there were no other OSers on. So I got into a mic only server and these guys are calling out orders and really talking it up. I was thinking, this is pretty cool. Then I die and I look at the scoreboard and there are at least 6 100* colonels in this game. They are talking about how great one of the other guys is and apparently they are in a clan or all go to the same message board. They are talking about being in the top 50 in the world rankings, etc.

What really caught my attention was when one guy says he got the final kill with a TOW launcher. Then another guy says he didn't know why he didn't get the kill because he hit the tank in the rear end with an RPG. Then they went into a "you have about 5 degree window if you hit a tank in the rear exactly perpendicular. If it's not exactly perpendicular then you don't get the full disable and it can throw off your damage by half and then one guy says by at least 18%. Then another guy starts talking about doing some "trig" to figure out what the damage is and how much you can be off of perpendicular and still get a disable with one shot". I knew I was in over my head at that point.

Oh yeah, they also had a girl in their clan. Hearing her talk was so weird just because you never hear females on there.

We played on Kharg and a 100* guy was in the jet and there was no chance to drive a vehicle. He destroyed everything. He killed me at least 3 times when I was just running around. His team lost, but I think he went like 40-4.(edit, I was right!) I guess I could just look it up and post a link, what else am I gonna do at work?

I think there definitely is a sweet spot in the armor on the rear of a tank. I don't exactly know how to hit it (apparently you have to do calculus to make that determination), but it is there. I was in a tank the other day and got shot in the *** only to have my tank explode when it still had near--if not full--health.

They were also talking about what damage a Barrett 50 Cal would do to a tank in real life. Then one guys starts saying it could damage the tracks and if you shot in the gap between the turrett and the body that it would cause a lot of damage, but other than that it wouldn't do much. These dudes were a little more serious than what I'm used to. The OS guys are talking about Playboy's, teabagging people and Chase taking Kt's kills. That's about as serious as we get.

Yes, there def is a sweet spot on the tank from the rear. I once shot a M40 grenade from above right on top of the tank and was able to disable the vehical. Never did it again tho.

Hitting a tank in the front does very little.

If you want the one hit disable, you have to line yourself up DIRECTLY behind the tank. It has to be a straight shot to get the disable.

If your shot comes in at any type of slant, you wont get the disable. Even you are technically "behind" the tank.

Think of it like the how the three point contest is set up. The rim is the rear of the tank. The only disable would be from the very top of the arch. Any other shot does weak damage. Your rocket has to come in completely perpendicular to the rear.

That's the sweet spot, or in this example, money ball.
