No, it's actually an online co-op. Basically, it's the exact same as single player campaign. Just treat your "online buddy" as one of your tag-along Saints. So they will actually occupy one of your three crew bubbles, and if they die, I believe you would have to restart the mission.

Sorry for the thread bump, but I just purchased the game on Black Friday. Yesterday, I finished all of Jimmy's missions and those terrible acting missions. I have the game on autosave and I save every time on a different file. I boot up the game today, and these missions are back on my cell phone. The odd thing is I am going back and completing the missions over again and my save files still say I have completed 12 missions.

It looks like the game saved, but I lost my mission progress. Has this happened to anyone else? I am dreading playing those stupid alien acting missions again!

It hasn't ever happened to me, but there's an actual pause-and-save thing you can do in this game. Make sure you do that before you shut it off.

I'm so used to GTA that I'm always driving to a hideout/property looking for a place to save, then realize I'm not supposed to do it there, and just pause and save when I arrive. It works out quite well though, because normally some event occurs between then and there where I can progress the game a little bit more.

That definitely always happened with RDR... just when I think I'm done playing and am about to save, somebody is in trouble and needs my help just as I arrive at my location. Then I play for another two hours.

Yeah I used both the auto save and saved it when I went to one of my cribs...yet I still lost the mission progress.

I probably wouldn't be complaining if I didn't have these acting missions to do haha

EDIT: This is amazing. I finally finished all of Jimmy's missions again and was about to finish the acting scenes. My 360 freezes and I boot the game up. It was auto saving the entire time, so I should have to just finish the last acting mission...Nope! It saved my acting missions, and threw me back to the first mission for Jimmy.

I mean, I enjoy video games...but wow. I can't stand playing missions over and over again, this is just ridiculous.

I can't remember those missions specifically (already completed the missions, still working on a few vehicle side-missions to get that 100%-ish), but I can't imagine what you're going through.

I thought your post was going to end with the freeze upon auto-saving corrupted your file. Did you know that happened to me with GTA III? Finished the ambulance missions to get 100%. Tried to save it... game froze. Rebooted it, and it started me on the game's first cinematic. Yup, file was corrupt. Ever since then, I have always given myself three save files for a game if presented the opportunity, and overwrite the least recently saved file.

I posted something on THQ's website, assuming they have seen the issue before. And I guess I have nothing to complain about...I eventually got to 100% in GTA III, I would have broken a controller or two if I ever received a corrupt file.

I am enjoying the game so far, just completedACT I. I know I can do the other missions to advance the story, but I just don't understand why these missions are still on my phone.

The OCD in me tells me I need to finish these before moving on to ACT II haha I guess I could try advancing the story and try to finish these missions at the end of the game??

It has to be an issue with the acting and Jimmy missions. I completed the last acting mission AGAIN, and finished the first mission for Angel (Insurance Fraud). I save the game and the last acting mission shows up on my phone, even though I completed it...but now I am on the second mission for Angel.

Those are DLC missions,you can replay those all you want.

Yup. Those specfic ones do,not other missions because you can't replay the others. You got the rewards for them right?

Correct and the achievements. I was confused because they were off my phone and then I reboot my xbox and they were back...

Well I feel stupid, at least I came here to figure it out. Appreciate the help!
