March 25 release for the final DLC. Exactly one year after the games initial release. Looking forward to this one. Kind of sad as well. It will be a long time before a new Bioshock type game is released.

        Another bit per Gameinformer

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Part Two finally has a release date, and Irrational Games has offered even more detail about what players can expect. As we saw in a recent (spoiler infused) trailer, Elizabeth will meet one of Rapture’s most recognizable faces right off the bat.

The gameplay is more stealth oriented, as players are put in control of Elizabeth. Irrational is promising a tale that “involves nearly every major character from BioShock and BioShock Infinite.”

It's longer too, apparently. 5 to 6 hours "for a completionist". Whatever that means.

I would assume that would be for the folks like me who attempt to find all the voxophones, hidden doors, telescope views, etc. I like stretching a game like this out as far as possible.

Agreed. Bioshock is a game you don't play just to rush through and get it beat.

Hopefully whatever the next game is, assuming there is one, it will be more like a Bioshock game.

You're missing out. And this is coming from someone who isn't even that big on FPS games and only played a few hours of the original BioShock.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that this game was free. I love the future.

I just bought the episode one dlc and played about ten minutes of it. I almost feel like it would have been better to play the dlc before the main game.

Not really Bioshock Infinite related but Ken Levine is apparently laying off all but 15 staff members within Irrational Games. Thought this was interesting.

While I’m deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” Levine wrote, in part, “my passion has turned to making a different kind of game than we’ve done before. To meet the challenge ahead, I need to refocus my energy on a smaller team with a flatter structure and a more direct relationship with gamers. In many ways, it will be a return to how we started: a small team making games for the core gaming audience.

While I'm enjoying Bioshock Infinite and past games, I'm happy to hear of this change. While never good for someone to lose their job, I think this is a change for the positive. As good as the Bioshock series was, the level design and "funneling" nature was very typical of past shooters. Their strong suit has been story telling and weaving real world thinking of political or taboo subjects. Take those strengths and bring in creative gameplay ideas and I can see them finding just as much success.

Totally agree. Their storytelling has been as good if not better than any other series, but gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. When I got infinite I was under the impression that a city in the sky would lead to a more "open-world" style of gameplay, but that just wasn't the case.
