All this talk of virtual hunting reminds me of when my dad used to obsess over one of the Deer Hunter games...

So one night, he stumbled upon an albino buck and killed it, and he was so excited because there's only like one albino in the entire game, but before he "bagged" the buck, I asked him to watch a replay of a Madden play I had just run, so he turns around to watch my replay and all of a sudden you hear a deafening scream from his computer and the sounds of a human being getting absolutely destroyed... he was eaten by a wild bear, so he has no proof that he ever actually got that albino deer.

Something about this sounds eerily similar to the story of JJLinn seeing a boob for the first time.

I would have dropped you off at the orphanage immediately.

So that is what he got for trying to be a good dad and trying to be interested in his son's game...lol

I would've given you a mountain of chores to do after that.

I always liked the Deer Hunter games, but the majority of my kills didn't count because they were considered poaching.

So what if I ran up on them with an ATV and jumped off quick and shot them ?

New GTA Q&A with some new info:

                Some more new info:
"From the beginning, we want to show off the new game mechanics while creating intense, action-packed gameplay, to capture the player's attention immediately. Remember that the three characters in the game are already living in the city of Los Santos and surrounding areas. They are not newcomers like Niko and Tommy Vercetti, or people returning after a long absence like CJ.

"They already have contacts, they are integrated with the world and lead a busy life - these characteristics should give players a sense of immediate and total immersion." That said, all three main characters won't be playable from the off. "We want to give the player the opportunity to get to know the three characters individually, and explore the world as each of them, and it would not have been possible if all three had been available from the start."
                http://www.oxm.co.uk/58495/gta-5-is-...for-no-reason/

BTW, 60 more days til we have this greatness in our possession. Or if you're Hustle Flightwhite, it's probably shorter than that.

I can already see that I'm either going to be playing as Franklin or Trevor. Just not all that interested in Michael at all. And I'm only really interested in Franklin so I can drive around with Chop in the car (I'm assuming you can drive with Chop).

In previous GTAs you’d have had to unlock the third island for your character to be on his level. Here, with the entire world available to you from the outset, he’ll have you instantly dabbling in high-stakes missions with big Los Santos playaz. That should make him an instant hit.

WOW having the map open to you right away is great news.

This game gets better and better the more I hear of it.

I don't know where I initially heard that, but it's been known news for a while.

I'm not raining on your parade, I'm just asking out to everybody where it is I might have heard this before. Perhaps even since that first GI magazine.

I'm curious to anyone who's played multiple GTA's: I knew GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas' map like the back of my hand. But with 4, I'm looking at my GPS every 2 seconds. Is the map bigger than the others, does everything just blend together, or is it just me? Didnt they used to not plan out your route for you on older GTA's?

If you knew San Andreas' map like the back of your hand, it's not going to be that much different since.. it's in San Andreas.
