    Re: Grand Theft Auto V

While I'm sure they will take any sales they can get, they would probably get themselves in big trouble for doing such tactics. The game is extremely popular and it seems likely that there are tons of people out there that would enjoy being someone that leaked it.

Although, I remember VC trying to generate hype for 2K football with their beta 6 thingy. Funny. So, companies have tried o generate hype.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I just re-watched all of the videos for GTA V... I haven't been this excited for a game since Red Dead Redemption. I can't wait to go online with this; it should be amazing to team up with y'all and blow a lot of **** up.

Its not fanboyism. Now stating the PS4 PSN will be bad is dumb since no one has even played it and everything I am hearing about it has been pretty good.

Now PSN for PS3 is slow. There are many that believe that and in my experience it is true.

Sony Sorry for GTA V Asset Leak, Rockstar “Deeply Disappointed”: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/...y-disappointed

Sony has issued an apology following the leak of Grand Theft Auto V assets that occurred over the weekend.

“Regrettably, some people who downloaded the digital pre-order of Grand Theft Auto V through the PlayStation Store in Europe were able to access certain GTA V assets,” reads a statement published on the PlayStation Blog. “These assets were posted online. We have since removed the digital pre-order file from the PlayStation Store in Europe. We sincerely apologize to Rockstar and GTA fans across the world who were exposed to the spoiler content. GTA V is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year with a very passionate following, and we’re looking forward to a historic launch on 17th September.
Rockstar has responded to the incident via the Rockstar Newswire.

“Unfortunately, as many of you may already know, some people who downloaded the digital pre-order of Grand Theft Auto V through the PlayStation Store in Europe were able to access certain GTA V assets leading to leaked information and media from the game appearing online,” the statement begins. “As you can imagine, we are deeply disappointed by leaks and spoilers being spread in advance of the game's launch. GTA V represents years of hard work by many people across the world, and we all couldn't be more excited to finally share it with you properly this September 17th.”

Rockstar notes there are more announcements about GTA V to reveal between now and release and reminds users that anybody discussing or sharing spoilers on the company’s site will have their commenting privileges revoked. Readers are advised the same applies here at IGN.

I can't believe no one at Rockstar and Sony had the foresight to see this happening.

Unless you lock this stuff down with some military-grade security, it's going to get hacked.

They play this so close to the chest that they simply can't afford to let things out for the sake of the magical spectacle that is to be on their announced date.

I'm just saying they're letting these hackers off pretty easily. I even heard they'll only get their commenting privileges revoked until September 17th. It's like baseball players taking steroids: they feel the 50 game suspension punishment is worth the money gained from the potentially improved numbers.

LOL, i knew u were kidding. from what I can tell, i think they are talking about banning people like you or me who would say post a youtube vid with spoiler type content in it, i dont think the actual hackers are going to be on the rockstar site posting stuff, they just release it and everyone else posts it. I think thats what they are worried about at this point.
