So are you saying they shouldn't be driving the same car as you then? Or they should, but just shouldn't see it that often?

Well it releases near my birthday, and I haven't been gaming much (save another replay of Mass Effect), but I do like the GTA games. If I can turn off the HUD (to avoid burn-in), then it's a go.

Shouldn't see it that often is what I believe he is saying when the NPCS are driving their vehicles. I can understand a couple of new muscle cars but, like the dodge charger or mustang but, not a high price classic muscle or foreign sports vehicle lined up 3 or 4 in a row although the selection is nice.

I hope not to see to many of the same cars in a row as well so that way when you finally do find the car you been looking to jack it doesn't get old. I'm pretty sure R* has already said this is the biggest selection of vehicles of any gta but, not sure how many more cars will be in this one than the other iterations.

What TV you have that you need to worry about burn in?

I have a plasma that I "treated like a baby" the first 150 hours. Since then it's been fine. Huds (especially the white outlines in EA sports games) do stay on after game is off but disappear after 15 seconds or so.

I've had a plasma for the last 2 years and haven't had a single issue with burn-in with any game.

The good news is that, compared to the previous GTA games, the only thing on the HUD is the map, which is fairly transparent this time and edges more toward black than it does white. Most people who had IR issues with GTA had scary moments with the white font or health ring.

I'm going to try playing with the map off anyway (unless missions require it for traveling), so like recent games such as Tomb Raider and The Last of Us, no HUD is one of the most awesome experiences one can have in a game. Talk about clean! Haha and it feels safe as a plasma owner too.

Hey Blzer, not to sound like a stalker or anything but I just saw you posting on GTAForums today. I'm guessing blocking yourself from the site didn't go so well?

                  Shows how much you know.

I went onto Google Incognito and created a thread regarding the map on the HUD, because I'm actually curious about it now (how you can find destinations, etc). I have just that thread open, and nothing else. I don't want to stumble into any threads.

                  See the "Incognito" guy? Haha.

Trust me, I'm still blocked from the website. I'm at seven times now.

The point of blocking myself from the site is not to keep myself away from there, but just to remind myself that if I accidentally let my fingers do the talking, I might read something I would otherwise not wanted to read. I've clicked on spoiler tags on this site accidentally because my mind is elsewhere, and it's screwed things up for me haha. I need a conscious reminder that if I go on, it better be for a good reason. This is one of those reasons.

                    Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Yeah the last thing anyone would want to do is spoil the game for themselves, especially at this point. Even in incognito though, I would imagine that you still run the risk of potentially seeing some spoilers in thread titles when you first go on the site. It's a risky venture, but I definitely see how that community would help with your question. Good to see that you didn't just give in though!

Playing a game of this magnitude without a HUD would definitely be an amazing experience, if not frustrating at the start. Looking forward to seeing how that thread goes, since it's something that I've been wanting to do as well. I've had a taste of it in IV, turning it off and just cruising around the city causing mayhem. Not knowing if the cops are still on your tail when you're wanted really adds to the immersion.

I merely went incognito to bypass the block so I could create the thread. I didn't look at a single thread title when hitting "New Topic." The only risk I run is if somebody posts a spoiler in the thread I created.

Yeah, all these thoughts really make it sound fun. Like one guy in there said, spend the first week exploring and determine what the lay of the land means to you. Maybe I'll start doing missions after a few days of exploration, nonsense, and mayhem.

Of course, with a game like this, sometimes you're handicapping yourself if you don't at least do a few missions first. Maybe you don't yet get a property or garage, are weaponless, can't switch characters, no currency, won't have your mobile device yet, or don't have access to side quests. I'm sure within ten missions, you'll be all set to go.

I've got ~30,000 gamestop pur points I've been hoarding waiting for the right reward to come along. Hmmmm...

Wish it said more about the car. Is it stock with cosmetic changes or is it loaded? Valued at $180k, but who knows how they got to that number.

                            Heck of a giveaway though.
