    Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Has something THIS COOL HAPPENED to anyone while roaming around Los Santos?

    **SPOILER??**

I was driving around as Franklin on my way to pick up Lamar to hang out and the screen flashed white. It was an alert that a kid was getting robbed for his bike and was screaming for help, i chased the perp around and finally retrieved the bike for the kid..a couple of days later, I get a weird e-mail that had a subject line *not spam - do not delete* the kid is actually the founder of ANIMAL ARK (one of the companies in the stock market) and he introduces himself, and how he managed to become a millionaire then bam! He rewards me with $100k worth of Animal Ark stock. This all happened right after the Jewelry Store Heist just before I met with Michael.

Now do I go ahead an sell all that stock or hold onto it? Haven't really dipped into the Stock Market aspect of the game.

    FIGHT ON!

You will have the option to purchase GTA$ through the in-game Store. The game and its economy have been designed and balanced for the vast majority of players who will not buy extra cash. There is no in-game paywall and nothing that should disrupt the balance of the game. You don’t have to spend real money to attain the cars, guns, clothes, flash and style of a high-roller in Los Santos, but can if you wish to get them a little quicker. The economy is balanced differently from the single player economy, and cash earned in one cannot be taken over to the other. Most players will earn cash much faster Online than in Story Mode.

Economy balanced for people not buying extra cash but we're allowing it anyway.

      Great. Doesn't sounds broken already.

Yeah, I thought about that when the message popped up on screen, but I went with what was closer.

Also, I am very, very happy rampages are back. It took me a second to realize what was going on during the first one, but man that was a nice touch for a random event.

All I know is, in game money totally broke that Spartacus Gods of the Arena game. I was fighting nothing but people who bought in game money and had their fighters decked out with the best of everything on day one.

But how would that type of imbalance translate to GTA? This isnt ultimate team mode levels of bull imo.

Its just GTA. People may buy cars faster than you, so what? The gameplay is what matters to me here. If the micro transactions were to unlock heists or missions that others could not get to otherwise then we could talk about this breaking the game.

If this mode is constantly evolving and changing and adding content like they suggest, then they would need a constant stream of extra cash to justify it to the higher ups. This is a necessary "evil" that I just cant be that upset about. Now if it goes deeper than they suggest then I will grab my torch and pickfork!

What they said, though was that even though people will have the money, they still have to level up to purchase better weapons and cars. At least that is what I understood it to be.

                Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Well, from what I remember, everybody starts off at level 0 for stats across the board right ? Like none of the money you currently have in the game transfers over into the online world right ? So you start off with basic everything correct ? IF that is the case, with micro money, a person could bypass all that and be rocking super heavy armor and gauntlet machine guns with thousands of rounds of ammo.

So in that way, it could seriously mess up the balance of the game. You have no armor, nothing but $100 and a pistol going up against people like that ? It would be a slaughter.

Looks like it. Have to increase Rep to get access to more stuff so money isn't everything. Unless you can buy Rep....

If that's the case, I may have over reacted a bit.

I just don't want our crew to be walking into difficult heists and be strapped with the best of everything.

Surely Rockstar could see the flaws if that was allowed. Let's hope your interpretation is right.

How big can the crews be? If 16 players can populate an online game world does that mean 2-4 crews running around?

Will LAN be supported? I can live with just racing and stuff with my friends who can come over to my place with their consoles.

I know the 16 number has been known for a while, but I am still surprised it's only 16 players per session. PS2 games had 32 person modes and MAG on ps3 had 256. Is there a specific reason why they limited it?

Starting to come around on the soundtrack. Radio Mirror Park and Non Stop Pop FM are my two go to stations. Soulwax FM, Radio Los Santos, West Coast Classics, and Worldwide FM are others I'll throw on from time to time. Very disappointed in Radio Lose Santos and Vinewood Boulevard Radio.

Los Santos Rock Radio is cool when I'm playing as Michael. Helps bring me into the game and add a sense of realism.

But yeah, don't completely hate the soundtrack anymore, but there's still a bunch of junk of there I can't get into.

Pervert by the Descendents is worth a listen on Channel X if you haven't already.

I think the game could have used a heavier rock/metal station.

                              A bit of advice:

If someone says don't pick up the Briefcase, listen to what he says and don't pick it up.

Also, I would've been shocked if the servers for GTAO did run smooth in the opening days, especially consider the hype for just THIS portion of the game has received.

And Mabster, I don't have you blocked man(or anybody really), what you talking about? Lol

People say to keep the assassination missions until after the story, but the only mission I have available is an assassination. Not sure what to do to get more missions.
