The airplane controls are getting better, but I cannot for the life of me get the heli up and going quickly. Manueving around turns isn't so bad, but sometimes I get caught up trying to level and keep my tail straight.

I also missed the moving target one, but that's pretty damn easy compared to the helicopter races.
Maybe there's an achievement for getting gold on EVERY hobbie and side mission. That I don't know the answer to.

I know I finished flight school with all gold and got nada. Zip, zilch, nothing. No biggie tho because it really didn't take me that long. Couple retries on the heli's but it wasn't that bad.

Any tips on the heli controls?

Do the stats really do much? Other than stamina I can't really tell the difference between 60 driving or flying and 100.

I'm surprised to see people struggling so badly on the helicopter training things.

Understand that I can only reach gold within maybe four seconds of the target time, and the helicopters are much wonkier than they ever have been in other games, but I'm not off by a significant amount.

Maybe I'll record a run of it so you can see what you need to do, but the majority of the time you just have to keep leaning forward with the helicopter unless you have to ascend, and try and hold onto R2 all the time unless you have to descend. Start out wide for sharp turns, too.

Fresh, I can't really tell the difference in attributes either. You get to 100 on a lot of them rather quickly anyway, so I wouldn't really take time to try and make sure you get them there. They'll just get there on their own (Trevor takes a while for driving though).

Going to be hard to articulate but I'll try. I'm on 360 so bear with me if your on ps3.

Firstly I made use of LB snd RB when turning. This allows you to keep the nose pointed down for speed but stay accurate while turning. As you do the course a couple times you get a feel for those 2-3 turns that need to be started a tad earlier than the times you're too slow.

Also I would tend to use both the LS to turn in conjunction with the bumpers this allows to keep the speed up, and turn sharply. Add the anticipation for the sharp turns and you'll save some time.

Keep the nose down as much as possible to keep your speed up. If you need to gain height to avoid a crash, let go of the LS while holding RT so the chopper rises, then go back to slamming that nose down.

Landing efficiently at the end is probably the hardest part. Especially as your time is winning down. If/when you can get to the finish line and have 10+ seconds left, and only need to land, take your time! Don't panic or rush, that = crash. What I do is, hold LT to descend but also turn the chopper in 1 direction (left is most comfortable for me). Turn LS left, hold LT and LB. As you get lower just keep the chopper level and hold LT to drop her on the landing.

Also, using LB and RB together tend to level out the chopper. Whether your flying full speed or trying to land. Hope all that makes some sort of sense.

I'll have to utilize LB+RB. Leveling and straightening after a turn was a perilous flight nearing an agonizing, spiraling death on some occasions.

Oh yeah, if you guys turn without using L1/R1 or the bumpers on 360, you're done for.

I've been doing that, but didn't see anything about leveling.

Could be old news to some but it's new to me.

I forget who it was that did the helicopter race with me but if any of you need a helicopter piolot, I am your man. He can vouch for me. I did 2 laps before he got finished his one. Lol.

I got gold on all the flight school missions, the heli missions are certainly a pain but it's doable, the trick is being able to keep the chopper level, that will help you keep moving fast. The real difficult part is the landing where you can't see the pad and pretty much go in blind. Probably spend a good hour and a half on the flight school, certainly satisfying and it really does help with the missions later on.

Flying that buzzard awhile aiming is a huge pain in the butt though.

I can tell the difference with the driving stat. when you unlock Trevor, you can easily tell between him and Franklin/Michael.

F and M doesn't fishtail as much as T does during high speeds.

I actually had it click today with helicopters. Fly a little higher than you want, then hold all the way forward while holding R2.

If you want to turn, roll the left stick slightly to either side.

Worked for me in a chopper race that we had that I won.
