Because I don't think any GTA game had it. I think if GTA gave us the ability to destory (at least to some extent) buildings and other objects (even if not as much as in Red Faction and Mercs 2), it would have made it even greater.
That would be awesome, i have a feeling a few of us would have the whole city burnt to the ground in no time.

Does anyone know if I can link my PS4 account to my Xbox 360 account for the online progress stuff? Or will I have to start completely over if I get this?

Yes you can get a 1 time transfer of money and progress from the Rockstar Social Club whether you played on 360 or ps3, to xb1 or ps4. It only works once though, so you can't transfer progress to both new systems.

Awesome! I might have to pick this up then. The first-person camera and wildlife and stuff just looks too cool.

I wonder if we'll be able to drive through shrubs on next gen.

Pretty sure you can drive through just about anything you want.

Hard to believe we're just about 10 days away from this...I'm seriously stoked. And I'll man up and say I'm VERY glad I was wrong about R* re-releasing this for Ps4/X1....very glad

I meant to say online progress. Nothing has been mentioned about the single player game, although I fully plan on going through that again anyway. The online stuff is nice though.

That would be a dream game. Imagine a fully destructible building where you can drive into it. Or just picking up some irrelevant clay pot to finish someone off.

I think if anyone could do it it would be RS. Although, Crackdown looks like it may have such tech. I also remember MS doing a showing of how cloud technology could handle the physics if destruction so that framerate doesn't suffer.

Personally I don't think destructible environments would fit well at all in a GTA game/universe. .

I'm not sure about the first one (played it on the PS2, so I don't remember), but in the 2nd one you could destroy buildings completely.

I agree with this. It just doesn't seem right to me in a GTA game.

Speaking of destructible environments, ya'll remember the PS2 game Black? That was the most desired game I never ended up playing.
