I doubt we see it this year anyway. They may just match the release date of watch dogs to try to steal those sales. I mean it would be smart of Rockstar IMO. Or at least around watch dogs release date.

Which is the reason why Rockstar will likely release it on the same date as it would split the audience and force them to make a choice. Rockstar knows if faced with such a decision the majority of people who can/only want to get one game will pick up GTA V because of the name recognition and previous history.

it'd be a smart business move on Rockstar's part to negate sales to a possible rival.

We definitely won't. Rockstar has never been one to rush a project, expect it by Mayish of 2013 methinks.

This is from the 23rd, but since no one mentioned it...

It’s been seven and a half months since the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto V and it’s easy to understand why fans of the franchise have become a little upset with Rockstar. Several months ago they said the GTA 5 trailer 2 would be dropping in a few months – well new info anyway. While it’s hard to elaborate on what a few months means to a developer most fans had hoped that this meant just three months, which means that we’re now overdue.
