      Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Is this being released as a physical disc for the PC?

I saw on bestbuy.com they had two listed with two different SKUs - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpa...=960&keys=keys

But when you add it to the cart it just adds it as one item and the quantity as 2.

https://Yeah I read that it will be,... across 7 dvds. Amazon has two different versions for the PC as well, physical and pc download.

That's actually what I'm trying to decide right now. which version to get. 65+GB is a lot for one download and I don't know if I want to take the hit against my data cap as we stream and download a lot around here.

Turns out this is not entirely correct:

"To run the game on a 4K display at 30fps," says Hoare, "you’ll need at minimum an AMD HD 7870 or Nvidia GTX 760 with 2GB of VRAM." As for the 4K at 60 frames-per-second, that'll require a "high-end SLI or Crossfire setup."
With that quote in mind, I decided to see what I could put together.

            Link here.

Came out to $1374.22. This includes peripherals, i.e. Windows OS, KB/M, Xbox controller & wireless dongle (wired would be cheaper), etc assuming you don't have them or access to them already. It even includes a 4k 60Hz monitor.

It's not bleeding edge no, but I bet that with fine tuning the many graphics options and even possibly OCing it would be more than sufficient.

I get it. PC rulez and consoles droolz!!!!!!11!

In any event, that would make for a pretty lousy setup. Real bargain basement stuff.

I'll stick to my PS4 and my 64" display, thanks.

Not even about that man, that's just how you chose to take it. I'm not crowing here or trying to make it into a fanboy type of thing, I'm simply refuting your misinformed statements.

If you say so. If a "pretty lousy setup" can play this game at 4K/60FPS then it is what it is. The point was that the cost to do so is nowhere near your stated figure and wouldn't be unless someone just wanted to go completely overkill because they could, which is fine.

Cool man, no one is trying to convince you to do otherwise.

No problem. I just can't get into PC gaming at all. I will definitely watch the videos of the mods on PC via YouTube though.

You do realize you are a "PC Gamer"??? All a console is, is a PC with a different operating system and antiquated hardware with no upgrade path. Look at the new steam boxes just to showcase this point. PS4 and X1 are PC in a mini-ITX cases with their own proprietary OS.

This is what blows me away when it comes to peoples perception about PC gaming. They view the PC and Console as two alien species to one another. A console has mobo, ram, video card, procs, fans, case, and power supply exactly the same as a PC.

So say you buy parts to build a "CONSOLE" instead of a PC. Does that change up the perception?

So here is your "CONSOLE" case

After you get the build complete you hook it up via HDMI to your living room big 65" TV. You then install the drivers for your "Console Controller". So now you have your console plugged into your big screen, you have the controller, and last thing you need is games. Well you can get 99% of those games for $30 and under on the "PC" tag (steam), while the "Console" locked frame rate versions will run you $60. You can then install as many games as you want instead of being tied to a small console hard drive(I'm aware of upgrading a new hard drive), instead you can have as much space as you want.

Now you turn on say GTA 5 on your shiny new "console", with your controller you go to settings and crank the graphics to max, then launch game. Upon running a fps tool you see you are getting 80+ frames at 1080p on a 65" TV. The game is running smoother than anything you have witnessed with another "console".

I'm still in the process in making another PC for the living room. I want to hook that up to my 55.

Anyway for now I'm happy gaming on my 120hz 1080p monitor. Until I get one of those 1440 gsync monitors. 😁

I look forward to this Tuesday.... I want to see if my 780 can run GTA on high and I also got MKX on the PC.
