If they are doing a block by block replica of LA hopefully it's like San Andreas game. Gangs, and their violence, and turf wars.
It already seems like it'll be fun.

I wouldn't even mind if it was the 90's again. I really want to see a 1970's GTA game though.

well, no info @ E3, I dont know what they have up their sleeve nor do i have a guess as to when they will release info.

It's Rockstar. We won't hear any info on another GTA until we're under a year away from release. They always keep quiet when the new GTA is about to arrive.

If I'm not mistaken, GTA IV was first announced when Peter Moore showed us a tattoo on his arm at E3 two years before release. Two years before that GTA San Andreas was revealed at E3 too I think. I don't think any other GTA's were announced at E3.

As for major info, I think we had like 3 trailers released over the course of a year, then got some solid info a couple of months before the release. This is all off memory and I could be completely wrong though.

Didnt IV get pushed back? From like OCT to April if im not mistaken, so their first trailer came out in April as well I believe, so it was 6 months before initial launch, then the game got pushed back and it ended up being a year.

Yea, it was delayed until May I think and the 12 months prior to that was when we got the trailers I think.

yup, the trailers I think came out in Mach-April 2007 for a October release. they then delayed it until April 2008.

Saying that Rockstar Games is working on a new Grand Theft Auto game isn't exactly a bold prediction. However, sources close to the Take-Two Interactive subsidiary have confirmed to GameSpot that the next installment in the blockbuster series is "well underway," and is already having final touches such as minigames being applied to it. The sources said a 2012 release was "pretty likely," adding that the game's scale was vast.

It's amazing how Rockstar can nearly complete a game without any leaks coming out. It just goes to show that they're very meticulous about getting things done and keeping it on the down-low.
