Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I will admit though that it would be nice to see a plethora of carjacking animations, and not just one or two. Dozens, even. Some hilarious, some aggressive, some at gunpoint, some where the carjacked is more willing to leave than the carjacker is to take the car, etc.
I also want to be able to dive-tackle bikers and motorcyclists, even at the cost of some health. I always imagined sniping a front tire of a motorcyclist in Vice City would have caused them to flip off. Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Wasn't there a GTA where you could steal a car, and if someone was sitting in the passenger seat, they would sit in the car, freaking out and screaming until you made a stop for them to jump out?
Or you could just drive really fast and crazy and they would fly out of the car?
What game was that?Comment

I used to get hurt emotionally when my kidnapp victim would escape the car when I slowed down. The Stockholm syndrome never takes in GTA manComment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Please bring back garages from the PS2 era while still giving the option for parking spaces.
NEXT GEN GTA WISH
One day, I'd like to see GTA make car jacking incredibly difficult for more unique cars. They could make mid level cars still relatively easy to take. For more exotic cars though, GTA should establish owners of these luxury cars who we steal from, who actually care somebody stole their car. Imagine car jacking a drug pin or powerful lawyer which would lead to dynamic consequences. I think it would be cool if that lawyer's spouse came after you for stealing their property. In return, the more valuable car you are in, the more you could become a target of a dynamic ai 3 man car jacking.Comment

I do however believe that they should be very careful to make carjacking too difficult...as that is what GTA's appeal is. Casual fun...anyone can pick it up and cause chaos. It's not meant to be ultra realistic etc.
I for one love the fact that I can just carjack any car I see without hassle and get on with it.
It would be super frustrating if you see this nice sports car, want to drive it but you need steal it in some kind of complicated way. Sure it will be rewarding, but I know if I mess around causing chaos I definitely won't be going after these cars but will settle for the easy to steal ones. Isn't that what makes GTA so cool, anyone can pick it up and do everything anytime?
Rockstar probalby knows that there will be a big outcry from the 30 year old virgin population and 12 year old kids why they can't have everything handed to them from the start.
GTA to me personally has never been, and will never be a game where I want to collect cars or anything else. I want big weapons and cause chaos...that's it.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
That being said, I do see your point of view and if implemented right it could be great...but it's a very fine balance and at this point everybody loves GTA...so Rockstar probably won't risk annoying a certain part of the fan base.Last edited by R9NALD9; 08-01-2013, 07:50 AM.San Francisco 49ers

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I always hate this response (truly no offense so let's not argue about it). But if we abide by that school of thought then games should still be like Mario on the original NES.
My entire point was simply that we should not be able to walk up to ANY car ANY time, open the door, and physically pull someone out of it. That's all. We should be able to every once in a while but not often. Most times when we try, the driver should just drive off. Now on the other hand, if we walk up to a car at a stop sign or in a traffic jam and point a gun at them from point blank range, then often times the driver should "agree" to get out of the car. That's all. This would be much more realistic, and make the game more realistic.
Again, the "its a game" is not a valid argument for something being unrealistic. Just my opinion I guess.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
But it isn't a real life simulation, sure it has some realistic aspects but like R9NALD9 said I think one of the draws to GTA is how easy it is to just jump in and be able to just run around and do anything you want. If you want to do the main storyline, side missions, just run around and cause chaos you can do whatever and its easy to do it.
If you're just running around and you see a car you want you take it, that's GTA. As someone who is more casually into the series I think it would be pretty annoying if I see a car I want but because some guy has his door locked and his seat belt on I can't take it.
Honestly don't think that would change anything though, if you want a car and they did place locked doors and seatbelts in the game why take the chance the door might be locked and the guy might speed off? I wouldn't even try to jack cars anymore I'd just run up shoot the driver and steal it that way, I would assume they'd even add a seat belt unbuckling animation so I can throw their corpse out on the street.
The lack of seatbelts and locked doors saves lives in GTA.Favorite Teams:
