Got it pre-ordered in store now. I was surprised they still had any CE available; the guy told me they have 650 pre-orders and expect 400 to show up for the midnight release.

They are pre-ringing everyone up starting at 6 PM, then from 9-Midnight they are doing various events/give-aways which I may or may not go to. The guy I talked to expects to have all 400 out of the store by 12:30.

I've actually never done a midnight release, but I think everyone will agree that we have waited long enough for this game.

I'm kinda nervous about the midnight release, the store I pre ordered at has a very small parking lot. I'm afraid I might have to go way early just to avoid walking a quarter of a mile with no sort of lights with the CE in my hands.

In my experience midnight releases go pretty smoothly now. They were a nightmare at first.

I will not be participating in anymore midnight releases though. I moved 15 miles out of town to peace and quiet, haha. It would take me 30 minutes to get back home and I would want to play it for awhile. So that would probably leave me with about 3 hours of sleep. I just got do that.

No game is worth that to me, even this one.

I'm getting it at midnight just to install it. So that morning I can just go straight to playing.

I have never pre-ordered a game. But, I was at BestBuy yesterday buying nhl 14 and figured I would grab a pre order card. I dont want to get left out when I have a gift card to use at BB so I was planning on going there in the morning. I am assuming (hoping) that if I was able to snag a pre order card and pay, I will get one for sure. I guess we shall see.

As excited as I am about the game, I'm done with midnight releases.

It was fun in High School when I could just skip school the next day and didn't like to sleep at all, but even if I got it at midnight, I would be dead tired by 2-3 AM. I don't want to play it until I know I can dedicate most of a day.

I remember going for Halo 3 and Rent A Center being next door. We were in the perfect place in line and got one of their couches to sit on . I skipped school the next day and we purchased several cases of the MD: Game Fuel and quick snacks and had a four TV LAN party at the lake house.

Between working, afternoon workouts, and other obligations these days.. not worth it. I have about 60 hours of PTO to burn, but I'm planning to take a week next month and I'm going to need a few days soon for a wedding.

Hope you guys enjoy it, though.

Never done a midnight release or showing or camp-out or any of that stuff. It has never appealed to me.

29 years old, father of 3/husband, active duty Army.

I didn't do midnight release until last year lmao. I'll go for GTAV. If the store in your area is good, pretty cool environment. Bottom line, never too old to still enjoy this stuff. I've grown up playing video games. No sign of ever stopping.
