Lol @ IGN giving this a 10. I remember when they gave GTAIV a 10; and subsequently lowered that rating randomly afterward.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
In all seriousness... I see all these reviews saying "landmark game" "historic moment in gaming" and it makes me wonder.
Don't get me wrong. GTA V is a fantastic game. Absolutely well done, but it's still a Grand Theft Auto game. There's nothing earthshattering about it to me. Some of the new things are cool (the switching mechanism between the 3 characters, the scope of the map) but nothing makes me feel like... "WOW this is going to change something about gamings future" like GTA III did.badComment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
It's probably more of a "this is the perfect game to end this era of consoles" kind of a feeling IMO. I think the next evolutionary step will be Rockstar's first GTA on the next gen consoles. I can see it using a lot of the gameplay elements of LA Noire, Heavy Rain and The Last of Us and trying to fit in into an open world environment.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Online may prove to be something a bit more revolutionary but obviously I cannot say anything about it because nobody has any idea yet for a couple weeks.badComment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
If anyone is interested, there are some people playing the game right now on Twitch. Won't be getting it at midnight so tomorrow is far away lol. At least I can watch someone play it for now.
Grand Theft Auto V is a vast open world game set in Los Santos, a sprawling sun-soaked metropolis struggling to stay afloat in an era of economic uncertainty and cheap reality TV. The game blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game’s three lead characters, playing all sides of the game’s interwoven story. What's with this chick? Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I sincerely hope nobody is expecting something more than a very large, very polished GTA game.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I don't think I'll have the free time to get into the game until this coming weekend, so I'll likely be holding off until Friday.
Which means I'll probably finally check out of reading this thread.. Someone is going to **** up and spoil something and It's best that I just stay away.
I'll have to stop myself from clicking on the thread out of habit.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I'll fully admit maybe I'm just missing something, but I don't feel like "OMG THIS IS VIDEO GAME NIRVANA" when I play it. It's just another fantastic game in what has been a superb series.
I'll be very curious to see what everyone thinks of the game after they've had their time to dig into it.
I don't mean to come off as someone saying "oh this game is such a disappointment" because that isn't the case at all. It's just that it's a Grand Theft Auto game. It has it's formula pretty much down at this point in time, that much is clear. It's just the best GTA ever released, in terms of gameplay. Nothing more, nothing less.badComment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I bowed out of this thread a while back, but I have to ask something regarding pre-orders.
I pre-ordered GTA V last December, and have no clue where that receipt is anymore. Will Best Buy still be okay with not only admitting me into the store, but handling my pre-order without issue if I can bring up the date of purchase or the card I used to make the pre-order?
Otherwise, I have some digging to do..Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
