I am through mission 4 and really enjoying it as well. I am really digging the art style and combat is fluid and fun. It would be better if it was 60 fps, but I still think it is pretty smooth at 30 fps.

At first I thought the style was just too trippy but after a few levels I really started to like it. Game does play smooth, I think I get worse performance during the cutscenes than in game

Very enjoyable so far. Tried out the demo on 360 and the PC totally clowns the console version. The 110-120 fps I get is great. It's not even DX11.

          Also it's moddable (not mine):

Apparently trying to use a PS3 controller crashes it and you have to get motionjoy and set it to 360 emulation if you want to use it.

Just beat the game on PC on the hard mode and it was really enjoyable. The combat is awesome but it does make your thumbs and brain hurt since there are a lot of combos and you are using just about every button on the controller.

The story is ok, I could do without all the cursing, there isn't any need for it. The environments are awesome and the boss fights weren't that frustrating.

Just started this today (been sitting on my shelf since release) and really loving it. Happy to see Ninja Theory do a great reboot after putting together some solid new IPs on their own (Enslaved is still one of my favorite games this generation).

Re: New Devil May Cry Announced

Now here is a curious thing. I love the combat and the action. Extremely satisfying stuff. The mapping of the weapons allows for great change ups during a fight and the uses of both angelic and demonic grappling are pretty cool. The upgrade system is great and the skins/perks options sound nice but you have to access the online store to get the benefit of these. I gotta say though getting surrounded is something to look forward to when you can introduce your foes to the quick slashes of Osiris and then brutalise the remaining meat with the deep cutting power of arbiter.

However, I am at odds with the game world. It is like travelling through a collection of Salvador Dali paintings and whilst I appreciate the style it just isn't my thing.

I find the game has a really creepy vibe which is probably augmented by the Dali-esque world but then again the game is about venturing into a realm full demons and other weird and powerful things. Also the decidedly more adult nature of the story telling sets this one into a different category than most action hack n slashes. By comparison Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is far tamer in story (also more cuckoo too). Whereas Revengeance's story is more zany like the ninja gaiden series with the action carrying the experience I find DMC tries harder to make room for meaningful narrative to make sense of why the action is taking place.

I actually dont mind the adult approach to Dante in DMC. I find him to be a more relatable character because of it. The fighting is top notch but I am not feeling it with the game world. So far the game has me caught between really enjoying the action and wanting to get the hell out of this creepy world as fast as I can and never come back.

I just started playing this on the PC. Combat is pretty fun, but kind of easy so far. I've never played any of the older Devil May Cry games, so I have no reverence for old Dante, but holy **** Dante is insufferable in this game so far. All the cutscenes so far are cringe worthy. I get that he's supposed to be arrogant and cocky, but it just makes him extremely unlikable so far. Hopefully the combat will stay varied enough for me to get through the game.

Coming to PS4 and Xbox One on March 17th, $39.99

                            PS Blog

Here are just some of the awesome new features of DmC: Definitive Edition:
                            • 60 fps and 1080p resolution — It looks and feels super smooth to play.
                            • Uprezzed Graphics — Including textures, characters, and cinematics.
                            • Big Bundle of Content — The game includes DmC: Devil May Cry, plus all released DLC: Vergil’s Downfall campaign, 3 Dante skins, 3 Dante weapon skins, and the item finder.
                            • New Skins — 2 new character skins. Devil May Cry 1 Dante and Classic Vergil.
                            • Turbo Mode — Turbo Mode returns to the Devil May Cry series, with the game running 20% faster in this mode.
                            • Hardcore Mode — Hardcore mode retains the experience of DmC, but with a throwback to the classic Devil May Cry games in terms of balance. In this mode, which can be toggled on all difficulty levels, the style system has been rebalanced to make ranking up much harder and ranks deteriorate much quicker. In addition, Devil Trigger doesn’t launch enemies into the air, parrying takes more skill, and all enemies hand out more damage.
                            • Manual Target Lock — We’ve seen more requests for this than any other feature! The manual target lock works as closely to the classic Devil May Cry lock on as possible and has fully configurable controls.
                            • Vergil Bloody Palace — Only second to Manual Target Lock in terms of the number of fan requests! This is a new Bloody Palace mode featuring 60 levels and Vergil as the playable character.
                            • Must Style Mode — This is a hardcore modifier on an epic scale that can be played over any difficulty level. Players must be at an S rank or higher to deal any damage to enemies.
                            • Gods Must Die Difficulty Mode — This is DmC Definitive Edition’s hardest difficulty mode. It takes DmC’s ridiculously hard Dante Must Die mode and adds a touch more punishment: All enemies spawn with Devil Trigger active and no items or health drops can be used.
                            • Rebalanced and Retuned — We’ve studied fan feedback and made a whole host of tweaks and balance changes. The style system has been rebalanced, as have bosses. Exploits have been fixed in combat and some of Dante’s moves rebalanced, such as the Demon Evade. Gameplay tweaks have been made following hardcore player testing; frames have been removed from Kablooey shots, Parry/Evade windows adjusted, and collectibles, keys and doors redistributed.
                            • Integration of Popular Community Mods — DmC Definitive Edition includes community mods such as an optional timer disable for Bloody Palace Mode, a triple dash for Angel Evade, and the ability to hit red and blue enemies with any weapon.
                            • New Cutscene — an added cinematic scene that never made it into the original.

Trailer, DMC 4 Special Edition teased at the end:

Sounds like a great deal for only 40 dollars with all the dlc. I got if on ps+ when they gave it out, and I loved it.
