Feel like every night ends with me losing about 5000 souls and then just turning the game off.

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Wow..really? Is it super hard or something?
I just grinded my bandit up double digits in attunement and intell because ...
SpoilerI rescued the guy who teaches you pyro..wow what a HUGE must have. The fireball finally allowed me to take down a black knight. I could not get it done with the Drake sword only. Now I feel like I can go back to the asylum and take the knights out that are guarding treasure. and clean that place out. It should also help me out with that dragon in the depths as well. I needed to speed up the process. My next question is how do I get more magic? I'd like to use the staff you can buy. When you combine magic with a melee character it is real nasty.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Almost sold on this game after never playing the first. Just wondering if there's any difference between the PS3/360 version? Controls better on one or the other?
I see there's no rogue class only thief and bandit. Do either of these classes sneak/use shadows? Or is just the type of armor/weapons you use?Comment

Anyone kill the tutorial boss with the broken sword? He drops a weapon if you do, though I heard you can trade for it later in the game. It takes about 60 strength to wield but half that if you two hand it.
There is an easy way to beat him at that point I found but you sacrifice having the master key unless you're a thief (and I found it by accident after dying like 6 times ).
Spoiler5 fire bombs and boom goes the Asylum demon and thanks for the Demon's Great HammerHELLO BROOKYLN.

There is no real sneak in this game, but dexterity and speed matters a lot. Building your endurance helps you use heavy armor and still move and roll fast.Almost sold on this game after never playing the first. Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
There are no real classes in this game, your initial selection only sets your initial stats and equipment, after that everything in the game depends on stats to use.Almost sold on this game after never playing the first. Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Holy ****! I can't believeSpoilerI just killed the bridge dragon with one arrow! Climbed to the top of the tower right where you come out in the undead parish with the black knight and shot him from a distance. He flew off (or something), then when I climbed down I got 10,000 more souls. lolComment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
I read about that. Didn't work for me though. Now every time I try, he's gone when I get to the top.
Luckily don't really need those souls anymore.
P.S. thanks a lot USF for that farming tip. Kind of cheap, but then again this game can be too. After doing that for a bit, I went exploring in there and found a really good heavy armor set, and then proceeded to get my *** handed to me by the boss in there.
Just rung the second bell. Praise the sun...
EDIT: Just looked at a list of all the bosses in this game. I thought I was quite a ways in, but going by this I'm maybe 1/3 of the way through. This game is going to be crazy long.Last edited by CC; 10-08-2011, 06:17 PM.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Finally bit the bullet and picked it up. Had a Target giftcard and received another $10 giftcard with the purchase. Game must be selling well, was sold out at Wal-Mart and had no PS3 copies left at Target and I snatched up the last Xbox 360 copy.
Can't wait to fire this thing up after Bulldogs/Vol game.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
I don't usually buy this type of game but I rented it because of the reviews. It has quickly turned into a must buy! I recommend the Pyro for people that aren't diehard because you get a mix of magic and swordplay right off the bat.
I'm still learning but I can already tell this game will be in my xbox for years.Comment

I wonder if it's selling well or it there just aren't as many out there since this could be considered a niche title, albeit one with quite a growing following. Finally bit the bullet and picked it up.
