Definitely try it out. If/when they get their issues worked out, it will be well worth it.

      Face-Off: Homefront

Homefront is running on Unreal Engine 3, but it's fair to say that Kaos' extensive modifications to ****'s tech make this look quite unlike any UE3 title we've looked at to date. Probably the most noteworthy change to the overall presentation compared to other titles running on the engine is in the lighting: Homefront's HDR-style effects are often impressive, adding mood and atmosphere to the environments and an increased sensation of depth in the night-time scenes. The other key innovation we see is in the multiplayer mode - the sheer real estate in the maps is quite extraordinary. Think MAG rather than Black Ops.

However, it seems that the implementation of these features comes at a significant cost - Homefront runs at a reduced native resolution of 1024x576 on both console platforms, and while the Xbox 360 version of the game features 2x multi-sampling anti-aliasing to smooth off the edges, the PS3 version has none at all, emphasising the upscaled jaggies.

That may explain a lot. 360 guys seem to really like the game/graphics. But, the PS3 version looks like that Modern Combat: Domintation Downloadable game, except worse. But, I wouldn't mind it so much, if the gameplay was decent.

I played one game last night, and the **** froze my system again. No wonder everyone is selling it at $40 brand new.

I think it's almost safe to say with these ridiculous server issues that the game should end up coming down in price sooner than later. Think I'll just take advantage then and hold off for now.

I was hoping the patch and server work they did was going to fix this mess, but I guess not. It's too bad because the game looks fun as hell.

So what's the best way to take down helicopters. Seems that's what everyone does, build up points and get a heli.

Really just sad to hear the issues that a lot of people are having because this game is REALLY good as far as MP is concerned. My favorite shooter.

The best way that I have found is using rockets but I forget the specific name of the one that I have equipped. I roll with the Explosive class the majority of the time.

I doubt it. Bad Company had issues that were just as bad, if not worse and it never dropped in price. The servers have shown definite improvement since launch as well, so again, I doubt it.

People are freaking out about the servers way too soon. I can't remember a FPS that had perfect servers within the first week of release. It sucks that it is that way...but I think companies try and get a feel for the demand initially before providing adequate servers.

We may not agree with it cause games are laggy at first...but it all smooths out soon after. I haven't had huge issues other than the first day it was released. been dropped here and there but overall this game is BA online.

Proximity launcher that the explosive class has. You shoot the rocket near the enemy vehicle and it detonates if you got it close enough.

I'm loving the crap outta this game, but it IS rather frustrating NOT being able to get into a match 95% of the time WITHOUT any issues. Once you're in, you're golden, but drop out and try to get back in? Good luck.

Once they get the server issues fixed on the 360, this game is going to consume most of my time online. Sucks, because right when I start getting the hang of this game and getting some good matches in, I can't change matches and expect to get right back in. Rather frustrating.

me too. I've only played like 3 or 4 online matches, every other time it sits around trying and kicking me back out. Garbage waste of $60 game.
