    Homefront (360/PS3)

Am I the only one who's really, really interested in this game? Comes out early March 2011, the plot is awesome. It's set in 2027, both Korea's have unified and with other countries, have attacked the United States and have taken it over.

It's a FPS done by Kaos studios (BF 1942: Desert Combat and Frontlines: Fuel of War) and I couldn't be any more excited about it.

Everything I've seen so far is top notch.

The home of captivating gaming worlds from the gripping post-apocalypse of Metro, to the twisted paradises of Dead Island to the authentic Medieval landscapes of Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

I might check it out. Depends on when Duke Nukem comes out and whether I need a new shooter in March.

I thought I was the only one!! Lol. The only thing that worries me slightly is I was looking forward to Frontlines as well and though the game wasn't horrible, it was just ok. Similar to Homefront, Frontlines had a "doomsday" sort of story that piqued my interest, centred around the U.S. not being able to supply the country with enough oil blah, blah, blah.

My fingers are crossed that they learned from their mistakes with Frontlines and Homefront is a winner.

I liked Frontlines, so I have been following this one. The hands on previews sound promising.
I just read that the release date is March 8, 2011.

A rich feature set offering layers of tactical depth combined with a game-changing innovation in the multiplayer space will set a new benchmark in online warfare"

I had no idea what this game was but I saw a trailer a couple days ago and I'm interested in hearing more about it. The only thing is, I'm really not a fan of first person shooters so hopefully this has more to it than just shooting.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

                    Joystiq singleplayer preview

Homefront's targeted March release date is still far enough away that Kaos can hopefully address some of the minor issues that plague the current game build. In that time, however, I don't think it's feasible to fix the big one: the gameplay's lack of a defining characteristic. It's got no hook, and in spite of its unique premise and setting, everything about the design feels entirely by-the-numbers. In a genre as played out as the FPS, Kaos needs to do much more to make Homefront a THQ franchise worth caring about.
I'd be buying this one for the multiplayer anyway. I did like Frontlines, but that was before BF:BC2.

I am definitely interested in this since they announced it last year.

The video taken from the 32 player MP is pretty crazy if the graphics are that good. Definitely interested in this one.

Frontlines MP was garbage. So much hype for such a flawed product. This looks interesting though.

I think this one looks awesome.

                            IGN: Homefront Multiplayer First Look

It's chiefly the battle points (BP) that make the difference; they're an in-game currency earned in much the same way as you'd rack up XP in other games, with points pouring in for captured bases, kills and headshots.

BP can then be traded for in-game items, from drones through to airstrikes and vehicles from jeeps to through to tanks and much more besides. It makes for a dynamic that Homefront can happily call its own – there's a spend/save mechanic that comes into play as the BP rolls in and you debate whether to call in an airstrike now or hold out and deal out the damage yourself from the controls of an attack helicopter.
This dynamic looks really interesting. You rack up points over the course of a fight and spend them in the same match for items. There is also a cumulative XP separate from this BP that levels up over time, but I think this sounds cool.

I'll be keeping an eye on this game for sure. March 8th will be an interesting day

The thing that caught my interest was the phrase "large scale". I loathe COD because of the small scale of it, it's so cramped. MAG, I loved. If this can do some of what MAG did, but improve on some of its flaws, that would be worth it.

Multiplayer is the only thing that interests me. Sadly, single player, in terms of FPS games, is just pointless at this stage. It's all the same recycled crap, even if this one has an original storyline.
