I did this. Happy I did. UC3 is so hard to wait on though, but glad I did.

This is a response I got from goh when I posted about trading in BF3 for the Uncharted series...

Do you like standing behind a wall then...

      1. Having the bad guy walk right up to you and get shot in the face?
      OR
      2. Getting off 2 shots from cover that might hit or might not, then having a grenade thrown at you? A sequence which will repeat
      infinitely until you kill them.

If you enjoy either of those then sure go for it. Obviously many reviewers and people enjoy it. I sure didn't but maybe you will. It is a very nice looking game series either way.

I wouldn't buy Uncharted for the online (but that's me),as it's a serious lesson in frustration just waiting to happen if you've never played it.

Pretty much what Goh stated is true from my experience as well. IMO....the hit detection is probably the worst I have ever witnessed in an online game, talking about shooting someone in the face, only for them to roll out of the way, chuck a grenade your way then....BOOM you're dead.

I'm not sure if you're looking more for a mp or sp player game...but if you're talking about straight sp,then yes I would recommend the UC series,as they are awesome in that regards, and much much better than BF,but going off of mp,Uncharted doesn't hold a candle to BF (but that's my opinion)

Just rent the games and then decide. It will save you trouble from going back and forth.

I am confused since goh doesn't even have a PS3, so he's just basing everything off videos again.

                Oh hell...I didn't know that.lol
BUT,I will say his observations based off of vids is really not that far off based on my game experiences.

I haven't seen any hit detection issues in UC3 at all...or UC2 for that matter. It's well known that it takes alot of shots to kill someone in MP. That's just the way the game is.

Call it hit detection or bullet sponge or whatever,if it's the case of what the developers intended,I would have to say it's the most ridiculous decision I've ever heard of.

Or the best decision. Because it takes good aim to kill someone. If you shoot them in the head they die. I don't have any problems with it.

I will say that Uncharted 2 was a lot more balanced that Uncharted 3 online. But, I still play (U3) every night for two hours or so. Can't say that about any other shooter at the moment. The rest of them bore me to death.

However you choose to look at it.

I'm quite aware of what it take to kill someone, but when I'm shooting them in the damn face, and getting hit markers, and their STILL able to roll out of the way and chuck a grenade all in the same motion.....this hardly screams "balance". Also, since when can somebody take multiple rounds to the chest and back and still live??...

I'm not here to argue, everything I've witnessed first hand, and is the reason I don't play mp with this franchise. I'm glad you don't have the same issues and enjoy the mp aspect.

Yeah, it's not a simulation at all. More like a Hollywood Blockbuster. So, I understand where you are coming from. If you are looking for realism this isn't the game for you, just look at the SP you won't see any realism there. Just thrills and jaw dropping moments. MP is no different.

U2 was balanced because you could win a gun fight with any weapon pretty much. I would always use the AK-47 which was the weakest weapon and my aim was good enough to kill people who were using a better weapon. In U3, the FAL-SS is overpowered in it's current state, and you have a problem killing people who are good with it, unless you have the T-Bolt Sniper.

                                Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

I'm through the first 5 chapters in Uncharted (basically through the first section, where they go to another country after that looking for something).

I just finished playing Batman Arkham City before starting UC3 and I'm not quite as amazed as I remember being for the other games.

Am I crazy, but it just doesn't feel like things flow as well when free climbing...maybe it's just cause Batman and that different control structure is in my mind, but I'm not really seeing anything different in this Uncharted vs the past 2...is it cause I'm still somewhat early on?
