Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
SpoilerI just washed ashore in Yemen.SpoilerEverything with Ramses is just outstanding in terms of scope and jaw-dropping "I can't believe what I'm playing" moments. The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.Comment

Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Just beat it.
I have to say... wow. :-) As a devout fan of the series from the days when Drake's Fortune was just called "Untitled Naughty Dog Project," I have to say that this game was arguably the most thrilling of the trilogy in terms of jaw-dropping moments. The story is strange and a little underwhelming, however. Elements of the ending seem very anti-climatic.
SpoilerDid I miss something or did they just write Chloe and Cotter out of the story completely? I kept expecting them to return at some point and ... they don't. Some tender moments between Nate and Elaine, too. Aww. :-) They really had me for a moment when you think Sully has been shot. I was pissed; he's easily my favorite secondary character.
Marlowe is an underwhelming antagonist. I kept expecting more out of her. I would preferred they let you kill her yourself, but whatever. Her ending was very Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In fact, the entire convoy sequence reminded me of that. A lot of fun, though.
It also seemed to be a lot harder than the previous two, but only because they keep throwing slews of enemies at you whose recourse is to spam you with grenades. Talk about annoying...
Overall, a solid 9.5/10 for me. Love it!The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.Comment

For some reason I found UC3 to be much easier than the first two games and I was playing on Hard. I'm not sure if they decreased the difficulty a bit or not, but it was a welcome change. UC has become one of my favorite franchises this generation. Hopefully ND take a little break now from UC and starts working on Jak 4 while the second team is finishing up The Last of Us.
SpoilerIt did bug me about Chloe and Cutter, just made no sense that they disappeared.
Marlowe (sp.) just didn't quite cut it for me as the main villain. Call me crazy, but before the game came out, I thought it was going to be revealed that she was Nate's mother. I am glad that they didn't go that route, but would of added something different.

Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
For me the story of UC2 was better, but the gameplay of UC3 is very well done.

SpoilerCutter broke his leg, can't quite run around climbing and such on crutches. Chloe it was pretty obvious she was done with blindly following Drake down the gauntlet of death. They just didn't explicitly say afterwards that Chloe wasn't continuing, though it should have been pretty obvious from the conversation on the bus. I think what's confusing is that Chloe didn't say anything Sully or Elena said at other points in the game, but those two just kept following, which I took as commentary on the nature of Drake's relationships with them as compared to Chloe.Comment

Beat the game a while back, but that scene with the sand storm caused me to put the game down for a night and come back to it the next day. It was that frustrating...lolComment
