Everybody that got stranded in Sol could just put their entire crew in stasis pods and just auto pilot back to their own systems. However, wouldn't they run out of fuel though ?

Considering it would take most of them 50 to 80 years to get back without a Mass Relay.

Anyone else think that the destruction of the Mass Relays was odd? It almost seemed like something they put in for a possible sequel. Like rebuild the empire or something

It just seemed like an unnecessary part of the ending, when do much other stuff was left out. But it seems as if they did it for a reason.

I totally disagree. The three ending choices were fine in theory but they were executed in what appears to be a rushed underdeveloped ending. I think everyone has to suspend disbelief in a game set in a universe where dark matter space magic enables faster than light travel but this wasn't about suspension of disbelief. It was about the ending making no sense to too many people. From a writer's perspective it was very poorly done.

And maybe if they had more time it wouldn't have been underdeveloped. It's not just the endings either, there's other things in this game that feel rushed. It's an ambitious project for such an accelerated dev cycle. That's what I was saying.

I think I know the answer, but did any of the reviews mention the ending at all? I believe Hudson has fallen back on "critics' reviews" as a defense against his consumer/fans, but I would imagine if the ending causes such a fervor among the fans then surely the reviews would've at least touch on the ending.

I brought that up a few pages ago, after seeing an ad then looking at the reviews listed on Metacritic and none of them mentioned it. The ending isn't universally hated, but it's hated enough that it's weird none of the reviewers made mention of it.

I think the point was that the Relays were part of the "prison" that organics were trapped in by the Reapers. Organics would discover the Relays and the Citadel then base their technological evolution off that advanced technology. As a result the Reapers would know exactly what lines of technology organics were using each time they returned to wipe them out and would naturally still have more advanced stuff. By destroying the Relays that can't occur again. Of course, the Protheans had reverse engineered a Relay that went to the Citadel so the technology while insanely advanced isn't impossible to duplicate.

The real beef though is through the entire series it might have been presumed that to defeat the Reapers heavy losses would have to be sustained but at the same time it appears most players thought preserving some degree of the galactic community was the goal. Instead it changed into a game about literally only breaking the cycles at all costs and one of those costs basically being that all current galactic society as we know it would be destroyed. I don't think many players thought they were fighting to literally wipe the slate clean for future organic life to possibly develop.

There's a certain scene that happens in the main battery that I'm sure made a lot of shippers squee in delight.

For me it is the following.

1. Black Widow
2. Falcon - this thing leaves vapor trails in the air, that is just awesome. Killed a Brute in 3 shots with this. Not bad for an assault rifle.
3. Scorpion - This is my Banshee killer
4. Krogan Shotgun, forgot it's name but it is the most accurate shotgun in the game and one of the top 3 most powerful in the game. Even though I'm not a big fan of shotguns, I always attach a blade to it and just start gutting people.

But the Geth plasma shotgun tracks targets.

Just beat the game and...yeah. I can see how that pissed a lot of people off.

I didn't realize I was playing Lost: The Game meets Neon Genesis Evangeleon. I half expected all the characters to start clapping and saying "Congratulations."

I mean that was a Gainax Ending to beat all Gainax endings. The equivalent to slamming into a brickwall after winning the Indy 500 in some ways.

Doesn't ruin a great ride though. Lots of great moments I liked. I'll jump right on my Renegade playthrough and see if I can get a better outcome...or if the outcome changes at all. I dunno. Maybe there's a 3rd option I missed besides control and destruction like...Shepard doesn't kill himself and lives happily ever after to tap that Liara booty.

In ME2 doctor Chakwas(spelling) explained the more renegade you do the worse the scarring gets. Im assuming your a renegade lol

In ME2, I was a healthy mix of both, but I've decided to go almost all Renegade in ME3..
