Re: Steam massive Xmas sale
I know it's on sale. What I want is for it to become a daily deal, where it goes even more on sale. I still see the Deluxe Edition at $30 on Steam. The regular version is $15. I'm holding out for it to be less than $10 for the regular version. I don't need the deluxe one because I think my collector's edition content from the 360 should carry over to the PC version since it's tied to my EA/BioWare account. Same deal with Crysis, where I would want to see it as a daily deal before I jump on it. Like I've said, I would really hate to buy a game that's just on a 'normal' discount only to have it become a daily deal within these next two weeks at a bigger discount.Comment

Re: Steam massive Xmas sale
Same thing with Amazon. I get taxed for that too.
Indeed! Good enough for me. I don't think I could ever go with digital distribution on the consoles, though. I'm not sure why, but I just feel like I need to have the discs for my 360/PS3. But PC is entirely different.Last edited by thaima1shu; 12-21-2010, 05:29 PM.Comment

Re: Steam massive Xmas sale
Steam is starting to become the same way for me. Such amazing sales and it's so easy to install/buy games. Apparently they have a good summer sale too. My PC gaming might end up being exclusively Steam soon.
Yup, that's the plan! Though at $15, not sure if that's the price point I really want yet. I have patience since I already have it for the 360.Comment

Re: Steam massive Xmas sale
My only reserve about Steam is that I still love having the physical copies of games. But for older stuff that would be a mofo to track down Steam is golden.
My small Steam Library consists of:
Titan Quest Gold
Tropico 3
Oblivion GOTY
Didn't pay over $10 for any of those. Oh, and I paid $10 for the Witcher earlier this year on Impulse Driven.Comment

Re: Steam massive Xmas sale
Anyone ever play the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games? always wanted to check them out.
Also since I'm new to PC gaming with a laptop that can play decent stuff I'm looking for a list of maybe 8-10 games that I should look into. Not stuff like Borderlands, BC2 etc. Games that are really PC specific or that are just much better to play on the PC.
I already have
Mass Effect 1 & 2
Fallout 3 & New Vegas
Dragon Age
thanks for any suggestions!!!
Some other suggestions:
ARMA2 combined operations
The Witcher
Mount and Blade Warband
Men of War Gold collection
Penumbra Black Plague Gold Edition - 4.99Return of the MackComment

Re: Steam massive Xmas sale
Question about The Witcher. According to systemrequirementslab.com, I get a pass for the minimum specs on the game. However, for recommended, I pass everything except for the CPU itself. I have a Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz, and it recommends a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 GHz / Athlon X2 5600+ or better. Will this be much of an issue?
I REALLY want to bite on this deal, especially for $5, as I love fantasy epics. However, I want it to run alright. Thanks fellas!Comment

I do not think it will be a huge issue for the CPU personally.

But then DRM started to annoy me. I never really had issues with my PCs like others and their horror stories, but knowing they are basically company made spybots and trojans just does not sit well with me.
Also you can just back up your games to a DVD or Blu-Ray and with a nice light-scribe burner, make whatever disc graphic you want. Physical copy!
And Steam has bangin' sales often, especially around the holidays!Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
