Neweggg is out of stock, but I found it elsewhere. I'm gonna have to delve deeper into the topic, as there are tons of cards on the market and they are all confusingly named.

If I buy the Rockstar Complete Pack, and do not own Manhunt and Midnight Club 2, can I gift those separately? The are not compatible with windows 7, and therefore I cannot play them without changing a bunch of things to make them work. I'd rather just give them to someone that can play them easily if I can.

Best place to start on video cards is Tom's Hardware. This is their "best for the buck" list for December. Then of course, go to slickdeals to see if something out of your price range goes on sale.

Best bet is go for a minimum of $150 retail price video card... that seems to be the magic area of being able to run games at 1920x1200 at max settings... but every once in a while those $150's goes on sale for ~$100-120 and ~$200 ones goes on sale for ~$120-150. That's when to jump in!

As for this sale, so far I've only felt like I missed out on Battlefield Bad Company 2, maybe the Prince of Persia series.

I've jumped on Mass Effect 2, The Monkey Island pack (a bit of nostalgia), Civ 4 complete, Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Complete pack, Lara Croft GoL, Tropico 3. I'm tempted to get the entire THQ pack for $50... but since that is on sale until the very end, I'll hold off for now. I bought the Eidos complete pack last year, so no need for Batman. I'm not the biggest fan of RPG's (although ME series seems to get rave ratings) b/c it just takes too damn long and too much running around. We'll see what else is in store in the upcoming days.

I have a BFG GTX285 1GB super clock that I got cheap at the time from a Best Buy sale error two years ago ($250 when they were retailing for $350). Card still runs everything at max.

It wasn't an error but I call it that because it is rare for BB to have PC parts cheaper than online, even with sales. But I jumped on it when I saw it in there and it was the last one on shelf.

Now I may just get a GTX485 or a 500 series and make this card dedicated physics

How greedy and arrogant is Activision?

They still sell CoD4 for $30, and $15 is as low as they got for it (same sale is last year, come on man!)

And they still sell the over a year old MW2 for $60 and $30 is as low as they go on sale (not like I would get it for the PC, since I played it on the 360 and did not like it as much as the first one anyhow, but still). It is about principal at this point. And the shafting they are doing is unacceptable. You already profited ten fold in the billions off this series.

I mean, they are really leaving a bad taste in my mouth... and pushing me away from Diablo 3. Out of all these companies making PC games, they take the cake in being so arrogant with pricing. I seen big games not even a year old go on sale for under $15.

Another thing: Amazon isn't allowed to offer $20 gaming credit with Activision titles for pre-order. So instead you get stuff like 200 points which equal $20.

As far as Diablo III, I was a bit turned off when I actually looked at the character models and all I saw was WoW.

That's what has turned you off to Activision? I've been turned off to them for a good while now after the Infinity Ward debacle.
