I think that Tidus/Noel comparison has some interesting parallels, I didn't personally think about that until now...but you are definitely right, although I don't know if there is anything more to that comparison other than the points mentioned above.
I am starting to think Noel is more Roxas than Sora

I just beat two bosses in a row...of course one was weakened after I beat the other, but it felt sweet. Good job Square Enix. Sorry I will be a bit distracted when Kingdoms comes out, but I will not stop playing FF 13-2

Hmm I'm getting Kingdom and then The Show when it comes out, plus games I still have.

In the summer I'll probably pick it up after a price drop unless I get bored earlier, sounds like it's better then I expected

It definitely exceeded my expectations, I think you won't be disappointed (unless you want an ending that makes you feel satisfied)

So, is there anyone who doesn't like the soundtrack?

I see on YouTube, there are a lot of guys - they call themselves "real" or "true" FF fans - who don't like the fact that there are lyrics, or certain sound choices (there are a couple rock songs for battles), or the fact that they feel the music makes them look "soft" because it sounds soft, etc.

I don't get this at all. I don't want overly feminine music, but I think the soundtrack is GREAT. I'm a fan of music being appropriate with the mood, which FF 13-2 does a great job with. What really got me into the game, music wise, was actually the music for Episode 1, especially in the beginning of it. It sets the mood so well ,especially when you look up in the sky and see Cocoon on the crystal pillar. Other than that, I like the music that plays while youre in the Historia Crux. I will say, the rock seems out of the place, but it does get me hyped for batter eventually.

The soundtrack as it appears in-game is fine to me. They took vocals out of a few songs (most notably the Lake Bresha Rap) and I think they sound much better in-game. The battle theme "Last Hunter" is one of the best I've heard in the series, and yes, there's plenty of mood music as well, but it does fit the situations.

I'm also glad they kept the theme song the same as the Japanese version, only changing the lyrics to English. Unlike XIII where it had a whole new (and imo, worse) song.

Anyone who has beaten the main story can look (not gonna do it for spoiler purposes), but it looks like the game will "finish" with DLC in the coming months.

I'm guessing this means no FF 13-3, but it could mean that we get a couple chapters to play w/ Lightning and Serah together maybe? Who knows, only thing for sure is that there is no 13-3, instead the game will truly "end" with some upcoming DLC.

Someone can post the details if they want, I'm not cause I don't wanna see any spoilers.

It would appear that this is what the gaming community abroad is believing, and I read something about Square's president kinda playing coy with either idea. There will be DLC that will help to enhance the story (I read some chatter about a chapter with Sazh being trapped in Serendipity)...but in my own personal opinion, there will also most likely be an FF13-3 as well. From what I've seen in terms of the ending and the way things played out in the story, I just don't think DLC will effectively wrap this game up

Just to let you know, Auto-playing the slot machines actually lowers your chances of winning something big (I think - I don't know how it works for fragments).

But I don't even remember fighting anything called a Yomi in FF 13. Then again, after I beat the story I had no motivation to play, bad memories from grinding on Gran Pulse.

That's true...but I sat there for 3 hours doing it manually and got nothing! So what did I do...taped down the button and let it run for 5 hours! And I can very happily report I am 157/160 (i spent all day with my girlfriend and didn't play any further than to get the fragment today)

As for Yomi...he was cieth stone mission 64 under a different name (the one I listed above.) The only way to get him was to do the other 63 missions (and I don't recall if you had to 5 star them or not)

After a long, hard 60 hours of total game play...I am very pleased to report that I have finally 160/160! It feels good, but at the same time...the secret ending wasn't anything to put so much time and effort into this for, but it still feels damn good to know I've done everything this game has to offer (for now at least and achievements aside, cuz some of these achievements aren't worth my time honestly)

A couple notes: The hardest fragment to do is the bestiary fragment lol, with a close second being the stupid Serendipity one (with the slot machine)

Other than that, there's some pretty cool timelines to do if you stuck to the main story and ignored the optional wild artefact gates. I enjoyed the backstory and story on those very much and even if you won't try to get all the fragments, I highly recommend playing all the timelines

Sorry for the grave-digging, but just finished last night (main story), and now will go back for the fragments...looks like it's gonna be a grind - I have like 107/160. May be another month!!!

...and that ending...So much less epic/satisfying than FFXIII, which left me all warm-and-fuzzy. This just kicked me in the 'nads.

Picked this up recently [the Collectors edition with the full soundtrack, which by the way I love] and I am 4 hours in and I love it so far.
I guess that can happen when you are coming off of playing the last one, which I didn't love.
