Re: Hitman: Absolution
So far thru 3 levels I am enjoying this game. Compared to other Hitman titles, this is the best one for the exception of Blood Money. But that is only thru 3 levels.
What I love:
Smooth as silk controls
Gorgeous CGI cut scenes and awesome sound.
The game looks great period.
Crowds. They are great. In China Town is was awesome. All the conversations everywhere, clues, etc.
There is a good variety in the way you can approach a hit.
Initial impression -
8.75/10
Replayability - incomplete.
I say that because I am only 3 levels in. But I already want to go back and try different ways to take out my target as well as collect all the challenges within each level.
Of the first three levels 1 and 2 were fun but I did not care for he Hotel Hit at all.
I am playing on Normal. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Hitman: Absolution
is the camera view closer in this game compaired to other hitman games??

Re: Hitman: Absolution
I was impressed with how well the CGI merged with the game engine. They could have gone with the game engine only IMHO, but the CGI allowed them to give detail where the game engine would have failed. Easily one of the best game engine to CGI transitions I have personally seen in a game. No jarring differential between the two. If nothing else, the company deserves kudos for that achievement.Comment

Re: Hitman: Absolution
Yes, but only a little, and it doesn't hurt the gameplay in any real way that I've been able to discern. You can move around while stationary to get different angles, but no way to pan out that I have found.Comment

Re: Hitman: Absolution
On level 2 for purist all i did was:SpoilerGo spot the king. Go top right and grab axe. Go from axe to the blow fish poisoning. Drop it in the soup bowl. By the time you poison the dish he should have made his rounds to talk to the dealer. I then followed the dealer and killed him with the axe just for points. When you kill him the poison should be in effect.
Does anyone know where the drugs are though? Also couldnt find the second evidence thing so i think i got a spotted thing. I tried just sniping the king after using the dealer suit but was always spotted.
SpoilerThe drugs are in the dealers aparment on the table to the left.Comment

Re: Hitman: Absolution
Exactly. As far as gameplay, feel and looks this is the best Hitman to date. And it should be as it is the first since last gen.
Level design/freedom at this point was better in Blood Money. But everything else for my taste has been taken up five fold.
It's a great game.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Hitman: Absolution
I'm trying to get all the challenges cleared in Chinatown before moving on.
The most ridiculous thing yet happend.
Decided to put together one of my needlessly complicated schemes.
Kill the cop by the car.
Steal explosives.
Kill drug guy and steal his outfit.
Place explosives under drugs.
Bring the king to the drugs and blow him up.
Place explosives under drugs.
This is where it wrong. Entirely unreasonably wrong. Ridiculously wrong.
I throw the bomb under the drugs from the side of the room.
At this point I've been spotted.
Again. Through walls. Through an entire building.
Apparently they got a good enough look to identify not only me but that I just threw an explosive under a table.
THEN...the person who spotted me starts coming up. Which is totally logical when you just apparently saw someone throwing a bomb in the room. But I guess if you can see through all those walls/floors and know it's a bomb on top of that then you have super powers anyway right?
The cop that's supposed to keep people from coming up did nothing. Just sat there watching his TV show. I have to break a fuse box to get up there but some random person off the street gets to walk up just fine.
This person now illegally breaks into "my" apartment and is tresspassing with no regard for the law or common decency.
Best of all? It was street vendor.
I stood beside where the door opens and they walked right by me then I strangled them. Apparently their super powers don't let them see through doors.
Parts of this game are just broken.
The second time I tried this the king broke. He wouldn't do anything. He just stood there. I walked up to him and he said he'd follow but he didn't. Wouldn't drink his coffee, sit on the bench, use the phone....nothing. Just stood there doing nothing. I grabbed the axe and threw it at his head. Then the game glitched and tried to pick up a dead body as human shield on the way out. After restarting the mission it crashed.
It is good when things work but I'm wary of just how often things will actually work.Last edited by goh; 11-23-2012, 04:15 PM.Comment

Re: Hitman: Absolution
This game like all other past Hitman games takes a lot of patience, time and planning. If your the type that runs and guns and likes to blow through levels...you can do it here but it really will be a very unsatisfying experience.
I am now trying to get to the convenience store after getting through the strip club. I loved that board BTW.
Again the crowds and NPC's to me are awesome. This is a gritty Hitman game. Now Playing on PS5:

Absolutely. That to me is where all the replay value will come from. I am playing on normal and sucking so far. I have had some great moments, but overall not doing as good as I would like.

Im playing on the harder settings for the achievement but honestly cant wait for my replay on normal to get the disguises and stuff and play the game how its really meant to be.5Comment
