I always get it right. I just get it right sooner than everyone else. Everyone else waits 3 months to complain.

I went to the Jay Sherman school of review.

I'll tell you this folks, even though the levels I have so far played may seem a little smaller than this game's previous iterations; the NPC interactivity is awesome.

The levels are filled with AI NPCs just walking about, talking, doing things, it just makes everything seem more alive. They'll also engage in conversations and its not like GTA style "I need a vacation" random chatter, they actually do the business (within level parameters).

The AI on Normal difficulty has set routes but they're still challenging, I did this one kill and they knew exactly where the shot came from and actually coordinated their attacks. Animation is a little questionable and some textures seem rough but the presentation is very, very good.

I think you guys will learn to like it even if it does feel a little more on rails than the previous games.

How far along are you? Do the levels seem to be opening up more as you go further?

I'm just on the 2nd level, as I said I am a terrible gamer so it takes me forever to get through just the whole thing (plus I like to explore and wander around).

Will report back and tell you how open this is.

Have you tried contacts mode yet?
And are all levels open from the start of contracts mode even if you haven't gotten that far in the story mode?

I am really stoked for this title. Next Tuesday baby. The Game Informer gave it a very solid 8.75 and I actually respect a lot of the writers at that magazine. I don't always agree with them but they have not steered me wrong with dozens of reviews on big name titles.

My pleasure bro, about time I prove some usefulness here at OS.

Ok so I beat the 2nd level and I almost beat level 2.5.

Level 2 was very linear, get to point B, interact with person X.

However and to my knowledge there were 2 ways to get to Point B but constrictive level, no real room to explore.

                    Beware Spoilers below:

                    Spoiler

Still a very solid game I'd say. Quite dark thematically (levels so far tend to be a little dark with an atmosphere that's very gritty) reminds me a lot Hitman Contracts. Even though I am terrible at games (hence this may be biased) but I am finding the AI quite challenging even on Normal.

Apart from the linearity and slightly reduced level size (compared to Blood Money), I'd so far give it an 8.5. Very solid effort from Ubisoft and its great to see Ol Baldy back to his bad habits.

would you say that is more like blood money???
less linear??? Seeing how the story isnt involved.

The linearity stems from the level design rather than the objectives. Its still a great game as I previously emphasized but the levels feel a little closed up.

What Contracts mode does provide is variety rather than freedom. For example, in the single player you have to kill Target X. In Contracts mode, the other player might want you to not only kill Target X but also Target Z using only the fiber whilst wearing a cop suit.

Hence, you're formula for creating these objectives are still governed by the parameters set by the game.

So in essence depending on the user it can be even more object specific than the single player (in order to get the higher score). Whereas in the single player, you can still go all guns out and still accomplish your task (again with a lower score and a tougher time, emphasis is still very much on stealth even if though it feels to be more aggressive oriented).

The randomness of the whole mode does theoretically provide unlimited replayability if you catch my drift.
