How is the 50 % extra thing working at GameStop? Do they just say that then lower the actual trade in price or can you look on the value for trade in chart and add 50% to that?

    If that makes sense

I got back from GS not too long ago and the values were the same as what I had calculated on the website. Wound up getting over $130 for 6 games and picked up 3 new games (2 PS4 and 1 3DS all at $39.99).
      Currently Playing:
      MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

Yeah I did but they are the same trade in values as they were even before the 50% thing..... I remember because me and my bother we're gonna trade some stuff in just a week back and I still remember many of the values for them

That's why I asked if you had to had the 50% to the total value they give you on the app

Yea you add it to the value bc I was gonna get for example 8$ for the last of us and on the app it shows like 5$.

              If that makes sense

Whenever you see an extra 30 or whatever deal.. the original trade in value from a day or 2 earlier is higher.
I paid attention to this a while back. (BB and GS both do these adjustments)

You still get more so it's a good deal but they do in fact adjust their flat trade value right before deals like this.

Basically what the trade in shows right now you can add 50% to that though..
What I'm saying is a day or so before these deals start they lower trade in value.
After this deal is over more than likely the games base trade value will go back up.

I'm guessing this "stacks" with the GCU 20% off deal, so essentially you're getting any of these games for just $38 apiece.

I also got an e-mail from BB where anytime now till June 27th I can print a coupon and get 4x reward points, though it works on only one purchase. So if you find a time this month where you want to purchase big, put a few of these pre-orders in there. Two pre-orders alone would be another $5 reward certificate, making this about 2 for $70.
OK how exactly this work? I'm a little confused on the wording unless I'm an idiot.

I know when Bestbuy does it, they lower the trade in price during the promotion. I would assume Gamestop does the same.

                    Sorry, I'll try again.

Obviously you see the list of games, so I'll leave that as is. If you're a Gamers Club Unlocked member at Best Buy, you're already spending only 20% off of your games (so $48 + sales tax). Cool cool, but now if you pre-order any of these games, you will also receive $10 (500 points) in reward certificates to your account. If you pre-ordered nine games, that would be $90 (4500 points) added to your account. So like, you'll still be paying $48 per title, but it appears more justified when you're essentially getting $10 back each time. Most people tell themselves "I only paid $38 for it" when they do something like this.

The other part I mentioned was something I specifically got in an e-mail, so if you didn't get it then you can't use it... but up until 6/27 you can use a coupon where you can get 4x the amount of points on any single purchase. So if you spend $1000 on stuff on this purchase, you will get 4000 points (which is $80 in reward certificates). If any game is $48, you'll get 192 points in return. Because it's $5 for every 250 points, you can really start to do the math and see how many times you get $5 back based on how many titles you decide to pre-order at once (if you're paying upfront in store). That was just a little part I added at the end, but you'd have to decide on that by June 27th.

Sell your games on Craigslist, you do much better than trading them in. Those stores are a big ripoff.

Thanks, but I'd say what I posted was a gaming deal and not about how GCU works; I was only interpreting to him what the actual deal itself was.

If I have this mistaken, I'll have to subscribe to that thread and check on the deals posted there more often.

It's not a problem, it's just the 5 seconds people take to check the deals thread is too inconvenient.

Not trying to make a mountain of a mole here... But isn't BB GCU and the discussion of it a "gaming deal". I understand there's a BB GCU thread (though not sure why we've been banished to it) but why can't it be discussed here. Because people who don't have it are too inconvenienced to have to read about it?

Because that thread is more about clarifying what the subscription is, how points differentiate, etc. This one is about actual deals and sales, even if you're a GCU member (or so that's how I see it).

The issue in this thread was that there were discussions about GCU itself and not deals, so they wanted a separate thread for that. I wasn't talking about GCU itself, or at least I didn't try to.

And just to make sure I can continue that discussion while still throwing out a deal, use Redbox code HWV2MGZJ to rent two games for the price of one (ends 6/7).
