I can't express how much fun I'm having so far. It helps that I put a lot of hours into Warhawk, as well as the Starhawk beta. It pays to hit the ground running. But still, this game is amazing to me.

I played co-op with a few friends after playing online. It's really, really difficult. The AI are actually quite smart. I'm sure the single player will actually be a challenge if you play on a higher difficulty level.

I'd encourage everyone to at least give this game a look. They should really consider putting a demo out there.

I want to hear more impressions on the single player before I open this up. I've never played multiplayer on the PS3 (On any game) so I'm not positive that I will get my money's worth.

Their's a flaw I noticed when playing sp if I fail a mission but kill the last remaining enemy of the mission that it let's me progress on to the next checkpoint even though they destroyed the objectives. Has anyone else noticed this? I don't know if it always happens but I did notice it at least once.

Single player starts off nicely for those who haven't played Warhawk. For those more familiar because of Warhawk, it might feel a bit slow at the beginning, especially if you took part in the Beta.

I like the in-between levels story narration. It's got that Infamous feel that's fitting in my opinion.

Multiplayer also has had some nice things added to it that weren't in the Beta (other weapons, buildings). However, I think countermeasures against the Ox Heavy Tank will be looked upon as these things practically dominate Ground Pounder-type settings. Other Tanks, Beam Turrets, Cluster Bomb, and the Hawk Torpedo both work nicely against it though. I did notice that the cool down time for "siege/mortar mode" on the Tank was increased.

I will say this. LightBox did a terrific job with the maps and so far I like what I see. You can familiarize yourself with any of the multiplayer maps because of the Explore option they put in. You can hang out in certain levels with your buddies (similar to a chat room or something like that). Things are varied. I still have to wait and see and play a bit more.

I can't believe Sony hasn't advertised this at all. You know if it was a MS exclusive everyone would know what Starhawk is.

I've only had about an hour to play so far. Stupid Life.:wink:

Anyway I got through the First Mission which seems to be pretty much just a tutorial. I'd say it plays smooth and the controls take a little getting use to but shouldn't be a big deals after a little more playing.
Sorry I can't say much impression wise yet. With the first level being pretty much just a tutorial (do this so this happens) it's hard to say to much. I would say it has potential depending on how you are allowed to blend all of the different options together.
I think I can sink a few hours into it Friday night and will be glad to post some impressions with a little texture if nobody else has put much up by then.

To Altimus' point they have done a horrible job marketing. It was just dumb luck I even heard of the game. The multiplayer (from so vids I've saw) looks like it could be a blast. Well see.

Good: Multiplayer is EPIC. If you liked Warhawk, it's more of the same.

Bad: Matches can be extremely lopsided.

Yeah teams can get pushed back to their spawn and the warhawks, tanks go to town bombarding. It is really frustrating because the game can be fun if it was balanced properly. I really like the building mechanic and adds alot to the game. Its just feels like that if your not in a vehicle or warhawk your at a real disadvantage. The assult rifle is way underpowered and rendered useless if you come across someone with rocket launcher or shotgun. Your better off just tossing a grenade instead of shooting someone. I still enjoy playing it but I do hope they get it balanced more fairly.

Yeah, they're rolling out an update soon apparently. I heard this from somewhere else.

Tanks take a huge (deserved) hit. Yes there supposed to be feared, but when you destroy one, you really don't accomplish anything since the guy can easily roll out in a new tank. The cost for a new tank increases from 2 rift to 4. Also, the amount of damage and blast radius for each shell has been decreased and the cool down rate for normal heavy shells has been increased (slower shooting time).

Cluster bombs also take a hit (again deserved, it's way too overpowered and in my opinion makes "ground pounding" pilots more effective than the actual good ones). Also stealth will go from 15/15 to 10/10 and shields will absorb less damage.

Air-to-air, homing missiles will lock on faster and travel faster to their target. They are currently very ineffective in comparison to Warhawk's homing missile.

Last, I have no clue as to why they changed this from the beta, but they are returning the cost of an outpost from 8 to 4.

They are also working on a new "flight-CTF" game mode... some sort of Quidditch game.

In any case, certain things should've been tested and introduced in the Beta. All the vehicles and buildings except the A.R.M. and Flak Turret were in the Beta. All troop weapon except the pistol was in, and the only Hawk weapons in the Beta were the Hawk Torpedo, Air Mine Flak Cannon, Swarm Missile, and Homing Missile. Cluster bombs, Shields, and Stealth weren't tested when they should've been.

Yep, thanks for that one. I don't frequent the PSU forums anymore since I don't want to get caught up in needless things that ended up affecting me negatively with Warhawk, although that post isn't from there.

In any case, let's see how effective these tweaks are. It's difficult to tweak one thing and if buildings are still falling at a ridiculous rate because of cluster bomb runs and tanks, I can see building health for vehicle production buildings being increased.

Yeah hopefully things get straightened out with the patch. Once the spawn ravaging starts it's a nightmare. I have been on both sides of the fence and it really is unfair and why I see so many people quit games and I don't blame them.
