Yea i'm talking ARMA 2. ARMA3 is not released yet, just the alpha. It might be slightly different for ARMA 3. I'm going to find out. I'm about to start downloading some ARMA 3 missions to so I get a leg up on how it will work.

I think I'll try out this ARMA 3 mission tonight also.

    Description:
    Situation
The Iranian army is occupying the town of Agia Marina and more importantly a military compound being utilised as a forward observation post, ensure all hostiles are eliminated.

Our task force will infiltrate from the sea, we've picked a rough night but that's not going to stop us now. Your objective is to cripple the Iranian held observation post, attacking through the occupied town then making your way into the guarded compound South East of the town.

    Execution:
You should approach the marina cautiously and ditch the assault boat when your close to the beach, making your way underwater.

EDIT: Just saw Greg that you don't have ARMA 2. For ARMA 3 you have to have ARMA 3 APLHA. If you have ARMA 3 LITE it won't work since I think the trial is over.

      Love that story Phobia

Its how I would like the teamwork aspect to playout in CoOp though

Like I said, of all modern games, Red River even if it pales to Arma is the closest thing to having an experience like that, and I preferred that over the COD's...especially since it took longer than 3 days to beat.

Honestly WTF, I really have no idea. By first glance I would say yea but I really am just guessing. I have never played it with a controller and really never intend to lol. There is so many controls you would have to really take your time binding keys correctly on the controller. Using a lot of double commands like Hold LB + something, Hold RB + somethings, etc.

Yes sir I do have the (full version if you will) of Arma 3 Alpha. I've been kind of lost trying to do anything productive. Between team kills and turning into a seagull I've been left scratching my head. Hoping for a way to play some sort of set "mission" this looks like it could be it.

Will do man. Looking forward to playing with someone who knows what they're doing. I downloaded a SP mission last night and didn't fair to well. If I picked squad leader I had no clue how to command my squad. If I didn't the ai just stood there...:banghead:

So I take it you figured out how to install the missions?

LOL I hear that, so I take you never played ARMA 2 or 1? Commanding your team is truly a important thing to learn. The most important thing that goes along with it is the fact you are not going to be in the thick of the fighting. Learning how to sit back and dictate where and how your team moves to attack is the key component.

I'll be learning on the new stuff with ARMA 3 just like you. I have not spent as much time with it yet as I should have, I still can't pry myself away from ARMA 2. So it will be good to team up with someone in ARMA 3 and really dive in learning the game well so come launch I'm thoroughly comfortable with the new features.

I love several of the new features
                    - New grenade button
                    - Stance adjustment is badass
                    - New movement speed is fantastic
                    - Sound is much better
                    - No more free floating aiming
                    - Graphics are fantastic

I do have couple dislikes with ARMA 3 so far now
                    - It feels more arcadey than ARMA 2 in my opinion
                    - Running animation looks funky

Nope brand new to the series. Finally have a pc that can run it. I've come a long way as far as learning the controls since first downloading the game. Still have a lot to learn tho. Steam says I've played 3 hours about and in 3 hours the only thing productive I've accomplished is the infantry showcase. Which I don't think I've fully completed yet.

If I try to play MP its either laggy, doesn't even start or I get TK'd/turned into a seagull lol. I didn't have much time last night but tried that SP mission, it was cool just would better with more players, especially those with some experience.

                          Re: ARMA III

I definitely will be getting a gaming PC soon just for this game mainly, I'm thinking sometime in 2014. Watching the videos, one thing I don't like is that sometimes it seems like players feet and vehicles don't touch the ground, seems like they are walking/riding on air a little bit and their is no kind of physics, I guess this is expected for a FPS, but it just looks weird to see realistic character models moving like Mario.

I'll be on 100%. We should have 4 or 5 of us if you join us. Joining is super easy, I can walk you through it in no time. I'll type up a quick how to so you can get step up and ready for this weekend.

You can have your controller all you want, I just hope you can bind it to do everything you need to do

Glad you might be joining us man, I'm in ARMA 2 literally almost every night. So you won't have a shortage of multiplayer coop missions to do with a fellow OSer.

Did we ever added each other on steam?

                                Setting up ARMA 2

                                1) Buy ARMA 2 Combined Ops http://store.steampowered.com/sub/4638/ and Install game.

                                2) After game is installed, click to download Sixer http://play.withsix.com/download

                                3) Install Sixer, using the default paths when installed. When it says "Hi and Welcome to Play withSix, the default mod installation path is c:\users\yourname\documents\arma 2, would you like to change it" Click NO

                                4) After you have Sixer installed it is very easy to use.

                                - First, Register and Login in. This way we can add people to your Sixer friends list

                                - Next, you will see the game tab. Select ARMA 2 combined ops. You will see it in the box on the left if it is selected.

                                - Now go to the Settings button

                                - After you are in the setting button on the right you should see "parameters", click "editor".

                                - In the editor, check "NoSplash". This will make the game load without the intro screen. Makes loading slightly faster.

                                - Next is the meat and potatoes of Sixer. The MOD tab. This is where you install and launch the game with the desired mods you want. The main CENTER column is the main "full conversion" mods. The small column on the right is where all the other sub mods are.

                                - To launch a mod this is how you do it. Click Advanced Combat Environment aka ACE to select it. On the lower right you will see "install", click to install ACE.

                                - Left click the little multiplayer/singleplayer button one time to switch it to singleplayer mode. Now once ACE is installed you should see a green "LAUNCH" button below that button. So in the left column you will see box 1 - Game being launched into, box 2 - Mod being launched with game, box 3 - Multiplayer/ singleplayer, Box 4 - Update or Launch game.

                                - Now once this is done, this is how to launch game with multiple mods selected. Click ACE to highlight it, like I have circled here. Then go to lower right and type in JSRS, click Add selected and you should see it now under the ACE mod set in the middle, then click JSRS_ACE and add it, finally type in SThud and add it to the group.

Now in the middle column you will see check boxes for each mod in that group you are planning to launch. UNCHECK ACE_SM. This is the ACE sound mod, since you now have added JSRS sound mod you don't want to run multiple sound mods on top each other or there will be conflicts.

At the Lower left you will see a orange UPDATE box. Click that and it will now install JSRS, JSRS_ACE, and SThud.

This is how you install and launch mods. If you leave multiplayer checked you have to go to the SERVER browers tab to pick a server before launching game. Now you don't HAVE to use this to find a server. For instance if you wanted to find my game I had last night. You could launch game in singleplayer mode then once in the game go to the multiplayer server browers and filter by my server name to find my server. You are not FORCED to use the Sixer server browser.

                                Hope this helps 23
