The Altis life mod looks so fun. Really wish I had a gaming PC.

I wish there were more reasons to make me want to upgrade. I can't justify doing it for a game or 2, as most all of the games I would need to do it for don't appeal to me anyways.

        Re: ARMA III

I finally decided to buy this game (Arma III - I had previously played Arma II: Free and enjoyed it, so why not?), but the damn card keeps on getting declined for some reason. I've had this happen before with online transactions. Argh. I have plenty of money in my checking account, so it's frustrating.

Wow, Steam has the Arma II Complete Collection on sale for just $19.99 right now. Maybe I should opt for that. Stellar price.

EDIT: WTF? After confirming all my attempts to purchase ARMA last week with the fraud service (I didn't end up trying to purchase it again until now), I just tried to purchase ARMA on steam again and my card was again denied? What a joke. I've got plenty of money in it and it works just fine when I use it daily. This is getting old.

EDIT #2: Eh, it's not just Steam as I just tried to buy something somewhere else. Apparently, some of the purchases I tried to make last week showed up as being out of the country, which must have thrown the system for a loop and now I can't even buy anything online. So damn frustrating. I'm going to have to check on this.

Oh, wait, when I tried to buy it from Arma's website (bitstudio) rather than Steam, it's now showing up as pending on my debit card account, but I can't download the game. Lovely.

Is it just me or did the weapon sway get ridiculous when trying to aim with a scope.

Yeah, one of the patches over the summer changed the weapon sway when ADS. Just make sure you're not out of breath from running when you ADS. One of the prone positions is your best chance to have a steady scope.

or switching to walk mode + crouch helps too. Key with the ARMA series they almost want you to assume a real combat pace. Walking when on patrols, and moving fast only during combat. It is not going to get you through missions quick but the current stamina burn almost requires it.

I noticed if you used free look to aim it helped a lot. But they just released an update that reduced the sway by 20%.

                      Re: ARMA III

Don't know if anyone here still plays this, but I was just playing some online with a buddy. Simple King of the Hill. 100 or so people in the server. We had a couple of lives last long, another few that just were wastes more or less. We lost. Ended up playing the next game just now before going to bed. Decided since I needed sleep I'd only play my first life. I didn't expect my life to last 46 minutes. In that 46 minutes I killed 5 enemies and assisted in the killing of 4 or 5 more.

That pacing might not be suited for everyone, but that is a part of why I love Arma. My highlight of the night was killing a pilot just as he was lifting off after a drop and then killing both guys that got out of the helicopter. Then my 4th kill was a guy in air with his parachute over 400m away. I had all of my assists between my 4th and 5th kills. My 5th kill ended up being rough. I was zeroed at 400, shot and missed real short. Ended up being near 550m away. The way the hill was shaped made it hard to tell he was so far away from where I had been killing others at with the 400 zeroing.

I just love the pacing of this game and havoc going on. 46 minutes and I only lived one life, killed 5, and assisted in the killing of near 5 more. That's enough time to play a whole game of Madden or Battlefield or 5 rounds of Call of Duty. Not to hate on any of those, but they just aren't my cup of tea. Advancing at a snails pace through tall grass with a buddy picking off targets and just spotting for others is my cup of tea. Nothing like spotting a group of guys only to see them all killed by an explosion seconds later. Or being in the 2nd story of a building and hearing a loud bang and realizing an enemy tank is 30 yards from you and your buddy are booking it through a field and despite one bullet wound, make it out alive and pick off 3 more guys in a 10 minute shootout through the windows of buildings on one street.

I love ARMA and been looking for OS guys to play with. Granted I have not played much since I reinstalled win7, but thats more so to do with my system struggling to run 3. So once my new parts get in next week, I will be back on ARMA 3 a lot more.

Man I love reading that stuff. I've had Arma installed since alpha and am just now getting into it.

Me and my good gaming buddy finally got together with another one of our friends who's been really into it. It's nice having a veteran show you around and the controls and all the intricacies of the game. And I find it refreshing to play with patience and the tactical nature it requires.

Phobia, I have you on my list of you ever see me on and want to rock, send me a message.

I just recently got into the modding of this game and finding out just how much you can do to it. Man, I might never play another game again(except you MLB The Show). The Dynamic Universal War System is all I need. The fact that there is plenty more just makes it all the better.

Right now I am in the process of editing my DUWS files in hopes of making it so that I am playing on a Vietnam map from the A3CV addon and making it so all units, vehicles, gear, etc. is from the A3CV addon so that I can have my own little Vietnam War experience that changes every single time.

If I can get it to work, I might need help to stop playing this game.
