Arma 3 moves into Beta June 25th

Military sim fans rejoice! Bohemia has confirmed that Arma 3 will be heading into beta later this month on June 25. New additions will include new arsenals and vehicles to test out and new scenarios that include a co-op and multi-team, wave based defense scenario. Additionally, a new "Independent" faction consisting of a military native to Altis and Stratis was mentioned. You know, in case

                  Re: ARMA III

Ok... I haven't been on in FOREVER, and have been bored with my usual rotation so I want to hope back on. Problem is, I'm lost (again) as to where to even start.

When searching in multiplayer its very confusing. Is there something (mods etc.) that I should grab 1st before even getting on? I do have Play withSix already, any other essentials? TIA

The one thing I'm waiting to hear is that the A.I. actually knows how to use cover and or concealment. The last game I remember playing in the ARMA series, the A.I. gave not one **** about utilizing cover.

I'm seeing they even implemented more firing positions. Will the A.I. use it? I only play single player, user created scenarios.

So I just saw ARMA 3 on sale on Steam for $35, then snooped around and found it for $21 through a different site. The only thing holding me back has been the fairly bleh reviews but it seems like all of them came from the September release. Are the situations like bad AI, no SP mode, etc. remedied now?

SP mode is in and its the same as the previous ARMA titles. They have the scenarios and a campaign. The scenarios are tied with the Steam Workshop now for easy downloading of user content.

The AI is still bad though. Your squad mates still run in front of you but are a little more competent in shooting the enemy than before. The enemy AI are still sharpshooter accurate to the point of frustration. I think it has more to do with their ability to see through the foliage and grass to accurately engage you. Where I can't see them at all.

Its still ARMA though and I enjoy it. If you followed the series since Flashpoint these problems have persisted since then so you shouldn't find it too alarming. The graphics engine is the best in the series too.

Finally if you are into DayZ, the ARMA 3 Breaking Point mod is my favorite DayZ mod so far.
