I have been playing with a couple of people I know, and we are trying to divide the loot somewhat fairly, but at the end of the day it is still a pain in the butt to decide and would be much easier if each player got their own loot. Not sure what the downside to that type of system would be exactly, I personally don't think a shared system contributes anything positive to the game whether your playing with friends or randoms. Creates more of a headache than anything. To be honest I kinda prefer playing solo so far (playing about 50/50 between solo and coop at the moment), just because you don't have to worry about the loot being divided or arguing over loot.

Obviously this was how it was handled in the first one as well, but I was hoping that would be tweaked in this game. The devs certainly made a lot of other positive tweaks and improvements from the first game, though.
Read an interview with the game developers where they said they purposely left the weapon drops that way to force co-op players to communicate and cooperate.
Co-op is tons of fun, but I also like SP so I can take my sweet time to open and analyze everything.

The more I play the game the more aware I am of the lack of cohesion between the character types. It would be nice to see more compatibility between characters other than just shooting the hell out of everything. And the game could use more activated abilities for each character type.

Tiny Tina is awesome. Just beat the first campaign with my soldier, level 32 I think. One of my favorite quotes from her:

            Spoiler

Also when she sings the Punch you in the butt song from adventure time.

            The story was great IMO.

Coop requires plenty of communication and cooperation without it though, at least if you want to stay alive . Like I said I am not playing with randoms or anything, so loot stealing is not an issue, but trying to divide up loot is still a pain even with friends. Ultimately it slows the group down and wastes time, when you could be shooting things instead (which obviously is the strongest aspect of the game). Don't get me wrong Gearbox has done a top notch job with this game in most areas, but I defiantly disagree with their reasoning on this particular subject.

For the record, I didn't play Diablo 3 (not a PC gamer), but from what I understand individualized loot is one of the aspects that people thought was a great addition. Oh well too late now obviously, but hopefully they rethink their stance on the subject for the next game. At the very least giving players an option between shared and individualized loot might be something to consider for BL 3.

Finished first playthrough (level 38 Siren). Easily my favorite game this year and it's going to be hard to beat.

Legendary shield The Bee + Legendary shotgun Conference Call is absurdly powerful.

Siren is a lot of fun, but the special ability and skill trees seem more flawed than the other classes. Also, some skills don't exactly work as advertised. I saw a build on the official forums that I'm eager to try out once I get the right class mod, because it looks as close to Lilith in BL1 as you can get.

I farmed the guy for the bee forever and it never dropped. Also what skills dont work?

Also for borderlands 3 I thought it be cool if they add a Create a Vault Hunter thing. Be able to select a "power" for you and select the three trees you would want.

I got lucky and it only took a second time to get The Bee.

                    As far as skills:

Flicker 5/5 gives you 30% more chance to cause elemental effects with guns, but it isn't additive. Instead, it's a percentage of a percentage. For example; weapon 15% chance to shock - 15*.3 + 4.5 = 19.5% chance, not 45%. A flat 10%-15% more chance would have been better than the way it currently works.

Ward 5/5 doesn't give the 25% increase in capacity for some shields.

Maya has a lot of skills in the Motion and Harmony (Chain Reaction from Cataclysm) trees that are reliant on locking enemies down with Phaselock in order to actually work. It makes sense from a balance perspective that everything can't be locked down, but you end with some important skills being useless. It would be nice for immune enemies if there was a lingering non-elemental DOT that persisted for the duration and it counted as being an active Phaselock without the crowd control effects. It would still be neutered in these instances, but at least skills like Sweet Release, Wreck, Elated, and Chain Reaction would work. That's why I'm going more Cataclysm with only Accelerate, Kinetic Reflection, Converge from the Motion tree. Cataclysm relies less on locking down, and Helios and Ruin still proc even if Phaselock doesn't lock down.

Loving this so far. I'm level 10 commando, first thing I'm gonna do is get longbow turret, then likely gonna max guerilla to get the rockets and double turret.

Finally found a sniper rifle in the Fridge worthy of my assassin. I'm at level 22, and the rifle is level 21, 450+ damage, and fully automatic. Bout time. I've been suffering through some AWFUL sniper rifle finds (had been using one with 250 damage and a small chance to corrode).

I imagine if I was another class, i'd come across way more sniper rifle drops .

I love the Fridge. I got a bunch of skins from breaking the frozen people there and there's a nice little loop that I did for a while to farm some loot. A few Dahl chests (green and red) and a boss as well. Worked out pretty nice for a while but I've out leveled the area now.

Yeah, it took me about as long to find a great sniper as well, but once I did it made sniping come alive.

Yup. It feels like a viable option sitting back and picking people off finally. Even if I miss headshots, the rifle does enough damage to still severely weaken enemies.
