    Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread

That Super Nintendo Gameboy thing is awesome. I'd love one for NES games even more.

Thanks for posting that. I've never seen it before, but I'll have to look into it now.

                Mo,

I was always a huge fan of Excite Bike, when I was a kid..

It's nothing spectacular, but I'm sure you can find it cheap.

My cousins own a store in town that sells all the old consoles, games and even newer games and consoles... If I'm looking for something for my collection, I just call him and ask him to let me know if he gets anything good in...

I'm building my collection for my future game room, which I'll certainly have when I get my own house.

Been building my Nintendo Power collection back up. I've got almost all the issues from 1-133, missing a few here and there and from #9-#15.

I'm trying to get the newer editions in the 2000's now, but no one really lists sets of those :\ I've got a few of them. My goal is to have every Nintendo Power magazine (just subscribed last week again).

One game I want to pick up is Rambo on the NES. That game made me so frustrated when I was little. Def wanna give it a go again after all these years.

Rambo III was a pretty sweet horizontal shooter for the Genesis.

                        Never played the NES ones.

I've oened Nintendos and I've owned playstations. Never strayed from that path. May have to pick up a Sega console eventually.

This may be an obvious question. I suspect I know the answer but just to make sure. . .

In the Nintendo Wii NES arcade, is there a particular reason a game like Contra isn't accounted for? I was assuming it was a licensing hang-up. I see Contra III, but I also assumed that may have been another publisher. Contra would have been a prime pickup on my 360, but the screen for the game istelf is so small and surrounded by very distracting fire.

Also, I know it's not true NES (I've tried to avoid unleashing my system and its wires back into my entertainment space) but we just downloaded California Games on the Wii a few nights ago and had ourselves a tournament. I'm proud to say I was the least suckiest player of the night. We even looked up an online manual to try to defuse the mystery of the Half Pipe (and surfing). To our delight, the manual even included a glossary of dude speak, defining such words as "tubular", "awesome", and "aggro". Further, for California Games vets, I never knew this was possible:

Contra is on xbox live, so I'm guessing that's why
