Forgot how fun Earthworm Jim was. Busted it out the other day an needless to say, popped in the second one shortly after. They don't make em like they used to.

The Contra on XBLA is the arcade version. Totally different game from NES Contra.

Same deal with Super Contra XBLA (NES version is called Super C).

Yeah, I'm just kind of bummed there is no access to any NES Contra on the Wii or 360. I even would have settled for the arcade version if it was full screen.

A little flea market hunting this morning. Nothing great, and I already own a few of these, but I couldn't pass these up.

Anyone ever play Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO)? I never had, but the guy threw it in for free so I'm anxious to try this one out.

For those who know about the fuss - a copy of Nintendo World Championships is now on EBay:

I want to see how much it goes for. 6 days left.

Must be pretty early in the auction because it'll easily sell for over 10 times that current amount.

                It is.

I just put a big bid on it - not that I expect to win, but just to be able to know I once lead the auction for a copy of it. :skills:

                      Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread

I got an email since I was the leading bidder - it said:

We're writing to let you know that this listing for an item you won or bid on is no longer available:

                      270893485735 - Nintendo World Championships 1990 (Nintendo, 1990)

We understand this may be disappointing, but occasionally we need to remove listings. In some cases, the item itself is fine, but was listed in a way that didn't follow eBay's guidelines.

Here's what you can do next:

-- If you already paid, received your item, and you're satisfied, please disregard this notice.
-- If you won the item but haven't paid, don't pay. Since eBay removed the listing, you're no longer obligated to go through with the transaction.
-- If you already paid for this item through eBay, and it's past the estimated delivery time, you can open a case in our Resolution Center. Click the link below, and select the "I haven't received it yet" option. This will guide you through the process of opening a case.

If the seller offers you the item outside of eBay, we strongly discourage you from accepting the offer. These types of transactions are extremely risky and aren't covered by eBay buyer protection programs.

If you didn't pay through eBay or PayPal, and:
-- You paid by Western Union or MoneyGram, contact the company directly (Western Union 800-325-6000 or MoneyGram 800-926-9400).
-- You paid by check, contact your bank to stop payment.

                      Thanks,

                      eBay

I'm guessing it was a reproduction cart. Those are worth around 40 bucks I believe.

It was "certified" as the real thing - they had a picture up and everything. It was the grey one.

Ooh ok, ya most of the repro's are blue carts from what I've seen.

Just picked up Super Mario Land 1 & 2 for Game Boy, haven't played them in ages. My last handheld (If you can call it that) I owned for more than a day was Virtual Boy, so I'm seriously out of the loop lol.

Man I loved 6 Golden Coins. The SML series is so different than most of the Mario franchise. Even without Miyamoto though, these games are still classics IMO.

Cool note about Super Mario Land 1:

If you beat the game and immediately start a new one, all the enemy designs change and the game becomes a lot harder.

The soundtrack was so good in those games.

Yeah, I remember hearing that but could never beat the game as a kid lol. I'd always get stuck on World 3 somewhere.
