Dragon Age 2 would be my choice then. The first game was awesome and the followup (while fun) fell short of what I was expecting. The import bug from Origins was pretty annoying.

If it was a game on it's own I wouldn't be so critical but I just expected more after Dragon Age.

      NBA 2K12.

Downgrade from 2K11. Glad I borrowed it and didn't purchase it.

Would AC: Brotherhood really count? That game came out in 2010 and I've noticed people posting about it for this year.

It's tough for me to pick since I haven't been playing much video games this year because I'm no longer a college student. Perhaps that's my biggest disappointment.

Luckily, it was a Gamestop used purchase. I'll give it a few more days, but this one is probably going back.
I'll second this. Rage was really boring to me. I might not have made it far enough to really enjoy it though. Sure the graphics are awesome, but the missions put me to sleep.

Worst purchase I've made this year by far. It looked so promising, but just wasn't any good. Played until after Dead City and sold it.

Resistance 3. Campaign sucked, ending to the story sucked, and the online? Sucked.

Madden, despite it's flaws, stays in my good books. Why? It stays fresh as I have a nice balance of Battlefield/Borderlands/Madden. Plus the real NFL season keeps me interested.

NBA 2K12. So many frustrations with this game, so many stupid decisions 2K made with regards to online which have ruined that element of the game for me, the biggest being the lack of sliders for online modes.

The gameplay is one steps forward two steps back for me. The offense improved w/ post game improvements, but passing is worse than 2K11 and I feel like I have no control on defense with the skating. That and online association has been a total letdown due to the lack of sliders and numerous other issues. I've given up on this game until the main patch comes out, though my hopes aren't high even then.

Probably Battlefield 3 for me. I remember back when BF2 came out and the team work was amazing. Commander talking to squad leaders and squad leaders talking to squad mates. I guess the key was everybody was TALKING. On the PC I still haven't been able to use voice chat. When my I played with my friends we had to run skype in the background. They have now stopped playing and moved on to other games that are coming out. So I'm left trying to stick with a squad of randoms that in general don't have a clue what they are supposed to be doing. They don't give out ammo, health, or revive. I remember when there use to be huge battles at different objectives in BF2, now me and the only other squad mate that perhaps hangs with me take over every objective in row on a 64 man server. Where the heck is everybody on these servers? I see people running around and vechicles fighting, but nothing seems to get accomplished. I just feel real let down by the whole experience. Actual communication could completely change this game, but at this time I'm hard pressed to push through all the freezes and crashes on the PC to try to lone wolf it anymore.

I am very underwhelmed by BF3. I played BF2BC to death. The teamwork was amazing. I play on PS3 as well.

I got the game release day.....played for 2-3 hours....got bored real fast. Same old same old.

My vote firmly is Battlefield 3. Great visuals, great weapons and maps, the sound effects are amazing. But something feels empty this time around. I have not had great matches at all and it is not due to my squads that I play with (we have a pretty good clan from BF2) it is the lack of the other squads. They are a bunch of rambos running and gunning, jumping into Choppers, Jets and Tanks with no strategy, rhyme or reason.

                  It's a total cluster**ck. Really a huge letdown.

Co-op is cool with my friends. But MP is a massive let down thus far.

I need to get some private matches going asap. That may be the only way to truly enjoy it this time around. Where as with BF2 most of the time you would find a public game and have a blast and get some great squadmates.

Not to mention only 1 tuner was released. This was by far the most frustrating NCAA on current gen.
If I'm ever to the point of being disappointed by the grass in a video game, that's the day I retire from gaming.

NBA2k12 - just a true disappointment after 2k11 (wish I would have never got rid of it)

I have to say NBA 2K12, they dropped the ball on this one...I had no choice but to trade this game back in. I may reconsider getting this game again in January, that is if I hear positive feedback from the patches towards the gameplay & if the lockout is lifted ( gotta have the rooks).

My biggest dissapointment of the year, and its not even close, is the announcement by Natural Motion that they are abandoning full on football and Backbreaker. Even those that were highly critical of the game understood the massive potential that was under the hood of the first edition.

I still hope they have licensed the Backbreaker engine to a third party developer that will make a football game.

Didn't know so many folks didn't like 2k12. I still have both and although there are issues with 2K12 I hate(cheating AI) the game is still fundamentally better than 2K11. Although I can see why people want to go back. I run my association in 2K11 and use 2K12 for the myplayer so far.

Yeah I think 2k12 is a huge improvement over 2k11 and didn't know so many people didn't feel the same. I am having a blast with my association and My player in 2k12 and wouldn't even think twice about going back to 2k11.

For me it was LA Noire. I was enjoying it for the first few hours until i realised it was a very shallow, repetitive experience without much to do. A good attempt at something different but I never finished it and traded it in....
