It looks great, the early stuff they showed was awesome, this is where my interest in playing parted ways, but I'd watch someone else play it... I'd get tired of it eventually... the whole zombie thing in every game might as well be monster themed because its the same thing on a lower level.

I'm hoping that's not the case. I'm expecting there to be a deep story about a bond that grows between a father and his daughter -- two ordinary people trying to survive in an extraordirnay situation. I'm expecting a lot of shooting (what game doesn't have that) but I'm also hoping for lots of stealth opportunities and more puzzle solving than we saw in Unchartered 3.

I guess what I'm saying is I'm hoping this game will appeal more to my brain and my emotions than my trigger finger.

you guys dont have to worry, the game is not made up of wall-to-wall zombies although there are times where you have to fight off a wave or 2. there are alot of just regular guys you have to deal with. i hate zombie games so i was very happy this wasnt full of them.

which brings me to one of my favorite aspects of the game during my play through. the Enemy A.I. was awesome for the most part and in most cases you had to use strategy to bring them down because they flanked you in very smart ways. you cant just sit in one spot and shoot everyone. they will send a guy or two to flank you from behind or from either side or just Throw a bomb or shoot an RPG and make you move. i found myself making these bombs that act like Claymores from C.O.D. and i would set them in areas where i think the enemy would attack me from and i would smile with glee when they ran into it .

and without giving away too much info, Joel and Ellie are not related so dont expect alot of mushy stuff lol. and although quite a few cutscenes were missing, and since they couldnt even tell us any type of back story to the game, the gist of it is just smuggling Ellie out of the area and getting her somewhere where her immunity to the disease/virus can be studied.

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

        Delayed??

According to the game’s product listing on Gamestop.com, Naughty Dog’s upcoming The Last of Us has been delayed until June 18th, about 6 weeks later than its previously-announced May 7th release date. We’ve reached out to representatives from Sony and Naughty Dog, and we will update this story as it develops.

It's not a problem for me unless it gets pushed back again into Madden territory. I would rather complete the game before Madden and use it for credit towards Madden. This still allows that.

                Delay is official -

The Last of Us is now scheduled to drop on June 14 around the world, delayed from its initial launch date of May 7. Developer Naughty Dog says it needs a few more weeks to polish the game, in a statement provided by Gamespot:

"As a team we pride ourselves on setting a very high quality bar for every aspect of our games - gameplay, story, art, design, technology and more. We want to make sure The Last of Us raises that bar even further - for ourselves, and most importantly, our fans.

"As we entered the final phase of development for The Last of Us, we came to realise just how massive Joel and Ellie's journey is. But instead of cutting corners or compromising our vision, we came to the tough decision that the game deserved a few extra weeks to ensure every detail of The Last of Us was up to Naughty Dog's internal high standards."

We found the demo for The Last of Us to be positively infectious.

I don't think anyone should have a problem with a 5-week delay (other than really wanting to play the game NOW, of course). Better to get it right than using post-release patches as a crutch.

Besides, I know I can't be the only person who already has a ridiculous gaming backlog that needs all the time I can get before I throw another new game into the mix.

I agree. I'd rather them get all the kinks out now than complaining about something that could have been taken care of by delaying it.

On a Friday? Seems like an odd release day.

Didn't look at what day of the week it fell on. I just assumed it was a Tuesday. Interesting...

I wish more developers would do this. Buying and playing a buggy mess is worse then waiting a couple months more.

Ditto. I was ecstatic that Skyrim came out on a Friday. I played it all day without having to worry about working the next day.
