Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Just hit fall and right before thatSpoilerwas just a ****load of depressing, from the sewers to after the sewers.
Also an interesting question about right before hitting fall:SpoilerDuring the sniper part, your three companions are attacked simultaneously by three infected, in what order did you kill the three?
I went Ellie, Henry, Sam
It's kind of like a personality test, you don't really have time to think you just react.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
So after picking up the game yesterday, I finally got around to playing it tonight. I downloaded the Day 1 DLC from the season pass, but not sure it worked. Is there a way to tell whether or not it downloaded correctly? When I click DLC in the menu, the screen only shows the Online Pass. Is there another way to check?Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
loving it on the Hard Difficulty. i recommend playing on that level.
less room for error makes things much more exciting.

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Got a chance to play some more tonight/this morning. I love the atmosphere and the care you must take in conserving supplies.
Capitol Spoiler:SpoilerGreat scene with Tess being infected. I have to admit though, I probably didn't have the response they were looking for. I didn't really like Tess and, further, she drove me nuts on a couple of areas where she seemed trigger happy and stupid. Still, my gaming gripes with her aside, I continue to be impressed by the storytelling and voice work (and how well they synched the facial animations as well)
I've read and heard some complaints here and there about pacing, but I think, given the tone and story of the game, the pacing is perfect. The tension is brilliantly captured IMO and when action swells it feels appropriately frantic.
I also like that there is very little hand-holding in terms of objectives or direction. It's a linear story, but I haven't really felt like I'm on rails. The illusion of freedom is executed well IMO.
More than once I've skillfully woven in and out of trouble only to reach a dead-end and have to redirect. Nothing too complicated (in terms of finding where to go) but trial and error often occurs, which only adds to the tension when you've left killers out there in an effort to be sneaky and then have to carefully backtrack through them. It also makes explorers like me think twice before opening every door and trying every path, trying to find that extra loot. The risk/reward there is well done.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Couldn't find any deals, so I went ahead and got it off PSN
Can't remember the last time I paid $60 for a game haha
At least I've gotten a ton of great games from PS+

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Thoughts about the game, just finished it on Normal.
SpoilerIt is very seldom that a game meets the hype, and this game exceeded it. A stellar achievement for the video game artform. The plot is better than most films, and the voice acting was superb. The combat was extremely visceral, Well deserving of all the perfect scores. If you don't have a PS3 you should run out a buy one just to play this game. Can't wait to see what Naughty Dog does with the PS4, WOW!Comment

At right around 25% complete this game REALLY hits its stride. I went from really like to absolutely falling in love with this game.
I successfully went through at least two enemy sequences last night without dying and some without killing anyone! As a gamer I'm getting smarter, and as a fan of gaming, the dialogue bestowed upon us while exploring...
SpoilerWith Ellie in Bill's refuge town for instance
...is absolutely exhilarating.
The pacing is perfect and the tale is perfectly woven. If this isn't GOTY I either haven't played THAT game yet or it hasn't come out.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Wow, I'm loving this game so far, started it this morning & just put it down to take a little break lol (very hard to pry myself away from this game). Has anybody touch multiplay yet??... if so how is it?? I don't plan on getting into the multiplay until I finish the story."The more you sweat in practice , the less you bleed in battle."
