I agree with that. Sometimes they place you in the middle of an encounter instead of back at the beginning. All that work of gaining position is taken away, and they put you behind cover right in front of where the next guy is about to walk up on you.

I'd rather just go back to the beginning and replay my strategy back up to where I effed it up.

that spot where Ellie is providing cover fire with the rifle. It saved right after I tapped a chair and they heard me from across the map somehow. So every time it restarted, they would already be running towards my position no matter what.

Got through it eventually but still annoying.

I was getting that in the basement with having to start the generator when the Bloater(?) was attacking. Every time it loaded it was right in front of me and would start blasting me with spores and blinding me. I would run straight into him.

One other thing...and I don't think it needs spoilers....I wish there was some way for a CHANCE to escape a clicker or bloater if they got to you. Not an automatic death if you didn't have an upgraded shiv.

I like the one-hit kills. It makes you think on your toes and gives me some genuine "OH ****" moments. It is exhilerating escaping being cornered or blasting a clicker's face off with a shotgun 2 feet in front of you when death is imminent.

Thinking back there's no doubt my favorite part is how you can handle each situation differently, even during combat. I loved hitting a guy with a brick and charging him with a pipe/axe/etc for an instant knockout.

Also I got surprised a few times when I was beating someone up a guy got around Mr and grabbed me from behind so the other guy could start whooping Joel's ***. Crazy.

part. I killed like 4 people and jumped onto the bus but got spotted and died. Then it reloaded and I was loaded up after that part.

I've had the opposite happen too. Past a whole area, died and reloaded at checkpoint. Everything's fine. Died again and it loads checkpoint before last and I've got to clear an area I've already past.

I also figured out you can playaction fake human enemies. Let a gun run empty then try to shoot someone again. They react to the empty click sound no matter what and they charge right at you. Let's you reload then blast them in their face. It's also another good way to get them to run right into a nail bomb.

I just beat the game and it took me 15 hours and 25 minutes. 613 kills and 73 deaths.

This game is good but I just don't feel like it was great. I had more fun with Uncharted 2 to be honest. The storyline was okay but not something that will stick with me. And I never skipped a movie when I say this. I just felt that something was missing but I can't put my fingers around it. I really liked Ellie's character a lot. She has a mouth on her with regular use of profanity which I thought was cool. This game is 8/10 in my standard. Very enjoyable but not in the great category..

The ending didn't justify anything for me when they were on top of the hill over looking the town and Ellie asked Joel if he swore about the fireflies and he swore to her. I guess the developers wanted it to be like that for the players to think there may be a sequel or simply use of our imaginations..?

just finished my second playthrough on Survivor. the game was just as good and exciting as my first playthrough. this is the first time ever that I ever played the game twice back to back. usually my second playthrough comes like a year later or something like that.

this game deserves every bit of that 10. I think this game and GTA 5 will be tied for the best games on the ps3.

Felt like it left a lot of things unanswered. I totally understand the dynamic of it, the parallel between the opening sequence and carrying Elle out of the hospital. Showing Joel as a human for being selfish and extracting Elle from Firefly capture and to prevent the surgery from occurring for his own personal benefit to fill a void in his life, but I was expecting more. Possibly a twist on what the infection was or how Elle managed to survive the infection etc. It just ended and I felt like the closer you got to the end, you could see this coming from a mile away.
