Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
I just fired this puppy back up for my second playthrough. Classic Ironman with multiple Second Wave options...the blood is flowing. I'm still in awe at how good this game is.Comment

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
I like gaming but don't get a lot of free time to do so but steam is telling me I've now pumped 40 hours into this game already and I only started playing it not that long ago.
It's the only game I look at with free time at the moment and I'm making free time to play it.Comment

Been rocking this on the iPad. The controls make a great transition to touch.
Give it a go on the iPad if you haven't played console.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Just a quick question. Is this a real time strategy or turn based? I recently hurt my left hand, so I'm looking for games that I can play with one hand. So hoping it's turn based. Thanks! My Teams

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Turn based strategy...there is a demo available on PSN, XBL and Steam... just to make sure you can play it without pain.Last edited by bghost; 07-01-2013, 11:50 AM.Comment

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Don't get attached to any soldiers with the Ironman option selected because the ones you like the most are gonna die lol. Sprinkle in some second wave options and you're gonna find yourself in some impossible situations. I've had to abort a couple of missions this playthrough, something I never did my first time around.
It's amazing how much different the game feels. There is a sense of urgency with every research project, every mission, every engineering project and a slight feeling of hopelessness wrapped around the game. Dreading going up against those Sectopods now
I had Sats up over all the countries in 3 out of the 4 continents (Europe was completely lost) and had a terror event in Canada (Panic level was already at 3, since it was the last Sat I launched). I aborted the mission because I only had two soldiers left. Came back to base and Canada had a maxed out panic level and they withdrew from the project and this is with Sat coverage! I love the fact that Ironman forces you to just eat it and move fwd. Sometimes it hurts though.Comment

Apparently this game will be on sale in MS Ultimate Game Sale so if you're gonna grab it you should wait.

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Not sure if it was posted, but there are some easter eggs in this game. Just name any of your troops one of the following: Sid Meier, Ken Levine, Joe Kelly and Otto Zander (all very well known game designers). Your troop will transform to look exactly like them and be pretty badass. The only downside is you can't get achievements with them.Comment
